I went to the RUSH concert last night here in Michigan and this is the first time I have ever seen RUSH with a string section!   :o  In the second half of the show, the trio brought out an orchestra or string section which consists of 8 people on their Clockwork Angels tour.  Never thought I would see that but since there is a string section on many of the songs on the new album . . . it would seem logical.  :scratchchin:

The show was really good and I'm sure I was probably the only one there wearing a MOPAR shirt.  Funny I was on main floor 15th row and during intermission went to get a beer and on my way back down, went to show my ticket to the usher and he said " No need . . I remember you  . . . go ahead?"   I said "you remember me?"  He said " Yes the MOPAR guy.  Saw your shirt when you left."  lol

Maybe it is just me but when I go to a show or sports event, I don't wear a shirt for that event . . . I wear something else that I like.  I mean . . . I'm at a RUSH concert . . . of course I like them or I wouldn't be there!  When I go to a Tiger baseball game . . . I don't wear a tiger shirt . . . I would wear a RUSH shirt or MOPAR shirt.  Same with the Mopar National . . I probably have 20 Mopar Nationals shirts but why wear one to the same venue you are going?  Of course you like MOPAR or you wouldn't be there!

Was a good show!
Tomorrow is promised to NOBODY . . . .

I was toying with the idea of getting Rush tickets, but my wife doesn't like them so I'd probably end up taking my daughter along.

The orchestra touring with them sounds cool.   :coolgleamA:

My first concert was Emerson Lake & Palmer in 1977 & they had an 80 piece orchestra with them, it was good & the last time I'd ever see that set up.

I actually went by myself . . . .  :2thumbs:  One ticket was easier to buy and still be close to the stage . . .  :shruggy:   My prettier half doesn't like them either?

Actually she asked me why go again?  I have been to many RUSH shows and I told her "one day they will be gone and I will not be able to see them any more . . . so for now . . . I will go to every show I can until then!"

I haven't seen Rush since about... um...  1979 down at Joe Louis.  The first ever concert ever there.    :icon_smile_big:

Last year I wore my Norm Cash Tigers jersey down to the Kid Rock show at Bethel Woods.   I had easy access to the beer stands and the restrooms cause they all remembered me.  :2thumbs:   Naturally I was the only one wearing a Tigers jersey in the whole place.

It is kinda sad to see them now.  They look so old.  Still sound good though.  How the hell did they get so much older and I just stayed the same?

Because you've been mistaking that portrait on the wall that you're parents had done for the bathroom mirror.

I've seen every Rush tour since Moving Pictures except one and have tix for a November show - I think about 20 rows back. Even though the best stuff is pre-Signals, I still enjoy a lot of the "newer" stuff. There are few rumors floating around that this is the end of the road, but we know how that goes....  (anything to add, Kiss fans....?)

As for me, I wear my Rush shirt with the red '60 Plymouth on it, so I have my Rush and Mopar at the same time. Since I also have a 60 Plymouth, it just has to be worn. The shirt was sold at the at the 30 Year or the Time machine Tour (can't remember). In fact, the shirt is so cool that I bought 2nd one for when I have to retire #1.

Hooked on Rush since 2112.... er.... 1979.

I wore out the album during a time when I was smoking a little more than cigarettes, I still have a CD version and over 30 years later it still sounds pretty good.

Been a fan since the fly by night album was released (14 then), even though the original 2 and there first drummer where from Willowdale ont. (Toronto) acording to there videoografy, there first airwave success came from the Detroit Cinncinati area with working man.  Im an hour east of toronto, across the lake from Rochester NY, and have yet to see a rush concert. Very popular in ontario of corse but tickets sell out fast and i never seem to here about them in time. Love the new album but you can tell Geddys (which his name is Garry but his mom i beleive is Ukranian pronounced it Geddy)  vocal cords are MATURING. As for the end of the road, i doubt it! these guys have a very strong work ethic and love what they do , so as long as the demand is there and there collective creative juices still flow , more music will follow. Hell , look at the Stones who are constantly redifining the music industries longevity, I very often refer to the analigy that if you put a work horse out to pasture you will kill it, therefore activity(work) of anykind keeps us alive longer! 2 things that are intresting about them is there has never been any drama amonst them, ie david l roth and eddy vanhalen. the second is that despite there extensive gold and platnum albums, the Rock and roll hall of fame has overlooked them! what a pile horse pucks! Clean living guys too, according to Gene Simmons when they opend 53 shows for them in the 70,s said they would be parting after the show with hotel room doors open, woman doing the band members and drinking etc, Gene went down the hall to see what rush was doing, they would be sitting watching TV by them selfs. Neil peart after watching there videos after the last cople of years has to be the best drummer ever! I cant beleive how much power comes from 3. God bless them for our enjoyment

La Villa Strangiato & Xanadu & By Tor are some of my favs & the list goes on YYZ ..........
Neil is unmatched on drums when he is putting effort into it , the newer tunes just do not showcase the Drum work like the old
