My cluster is faded and in need a restoration.   Where is a good place to get these restored?  I have a tic toc tac in mine.  Not the wood grain style.

Are you wanting to restore the guages themselves, the bezel ( the black piece), or both?

Yeah, everything.  Not sure if I should sell my old one, and buy something already restored like

But $800 is steep.

There are some good threads on here to restore guages if you want to try and tackle it yourself.  There are also some places that specialize in it if you want to send it out.  The bezel will need to be sent out to a place that replates them like Mr. G's.  Buying one already restored is a quick and easy option and 800 is a lot of money but I'm not too sure that I haven't ever seen a fully restored one for much less?

I was a little worried at first but I ended up doing the gauges myself.  After everything said and done it was really easy and glad I did it myself.  Now for the bezels I bought a set at BEA.

How was the fit and everything with those BEA bezels?

Aside from the cluster on ebay for $850, what are our other options?  :shruggy:

Ghoste

If you aren't going to do it yourself, the only other option is to send yous out to one of the professionals really.  I'd bet that a complete resto gets you close in cost to what that one on e-bay is. :shruggy:

The kit to change the clock to quartz is around $75 I think.  Calibrating gauges you can do yourself although I have done mine and they're still off.

Why the black and silver lettering paint?  Are you thinking of going silver instead of chrome?  Look up my cluster resto thread to have your cake and eat it.

My question is this- when a shop (Redline, etc.) restores one of these clusters, do they use decals as well, or do they us another process? I have "heard" they they actually re-silk screen (if that is the proper term) the original lettering and such, but I did not know this for sure. If that is the case, it would be worth having a pro do it if you had the cash. Just curious, becuase I have one that needs re-done as well.

I have no idea how they redo them but PCG will just use their decals.  I've redone mine and you know what?  Nothing will make it look better, the decals are perfect.  And you certainly can't beat the price.  All decals + paint is still less than $100.
