They seem to be making new cars with only one speed these days. Let me explain. I was sitting behind a driver today who's car was doing 60kmh in the 80 zone and 60 in the 50 zone and 60 in the 40 zone and then 60 in the 80 zone again. This isn't just a one off occurance, it's happening all the time.

For Americans, that's around 40 mph.  Some people just can't drive without the cruise control.  Then again, there are those that need it. It sucks following someone on a two lane road that varies their speed +/- 10mph. :soapbox:

Fred...seems like you don't know where the "go" pedal is on your car...it's the long one on the right....just pass the bitch!

Fred

Two lane black top Bryan, too many curves you can't see around and double lines (no overtaking allowed) all the way plus plenty of on coming traffic.
JUst have to grin and bare it.   :'( :'( And swear my bloody head off.
Mrs. Fred says I should just pull over for 10 mins, relax and then take off again but what's the point of that when there's so many of these cars on the road these days.
I'll just get stuck behind another one.

Funny. I see a lot of cars with their brake lights on all the time, 70 mph or 7 mph and while accelerating, doesn't matter. Usually the offender is a little Asian woman sitting with her chest 2.5" from the steering wheel and a pained look on her face like driving is the toughest thing anyone has ever done.

Must be a genetic thing, they do it here too. Braking on the uphill for the win though  ;)

Has anyone noticed drivers stopping about a car's length in front of the line at a stop light or sign?  I see that all of the time now.  What the hell is that all about?

Yes, me. What is that all about. Is there an invisible car that only they can see parked in front of them?  It drives me nuts.   :pullinghair:

It shits me when they're already plodding along at 10 to 15 kmh under the allowed speed limit (practically standing still) and then still brake in the corners. :pullinghair:

Maybe they are anticipating an impatient SOB trying to beat the light when it's CLEARLY red? See it too many times before. People will "cut" the edge and if your sitting there all up under the light, your gonna get clipped.

Or that shortened left turning guy from the side.  That'll clean your fender up nice too.

There are just too many people out there that don't give any respect to anybody else on the road.  I guess that's why they're trying to develope a car that drives itself.  That might be alright for a while until someone gets stupid and spills their coffee on the dash, shorts the thing out, and it takes off all on its own.    What'll be the odds it's a Toyota? :icon_smile_question:

Will the coffee be wrapped too? It will need to be to protect the fool from spilling it on himself (for his protection) :icon_smile_big:

I went around one of those one time and parked in that empty spot.  They don't like that.  :rotz:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Really dumb, they could have a good reason for stopping that far back, like a kid fell off a bicycle in the crosswalk and you can't see them.

No,no, nothing like that. They just stop that far back for no reason any normal person can think of. I see it often.............red light ahead and they start to slow down way back and then just stop also way back.

Came home from a drive in the charger today and some idiot woman parked her car on a very sharp bend (can't see around it) half way on the road and she expected me to pass. I honked my horn so she got back in the car and moved it right into the bend in the same precarious way and was getting ready to get out so my wife got out and asked her didn't she realise how dangerous it is for me to try and pass her there, when I can't see if anything coming towards me. She had to tell the woman to drive off further down the road and park on the straight.
What's wrong with these people? She said she was only going to be a minute, my wife said .........be a minute somewhere else!

Yeah, I get your point.  They stop 3 car legnths from where they are supposed too.  It just makes it that much easier to pass them though.  Let them be a hazzard to someone else.  Of course, you can't blame them though.  They're just being too careful.  Around here, it's normally older ladies driving Caddys.  They don't realize that them being too careful is causing headaches for everyone else. To me, they're just as bad as someone that is just as careless.

One problem is, it's too easy these days to get a car. And if u drive a classic car u might as well have a big bullseye on the side...it's like they go out of their way to try and hit u or run u off the road. And
don't get me started about the idiots that yield on the on-ramp to the freeway cuz they have no clue how to merge.

Rant over  :D

If you want the whole road to yourself, try this.    Drive a beater.  One that  looks like it's put together with bailing wire and duck tape.  (Bonus points if you tape a duck to your beater Skip)  People will give all the room you need.

And even easier to get a license it seems.
And as for those idiots on the on ramp..........SHIT! they drive me nuts. What's the matter with everybody these days. Don't they know the road rules or are they just so shit scared that maybe they shouldn't be driving.

I hate it when they get on an on ramp in a construction zone.  They make you stop so they can get on.  Get enough of them, and your there a half hour. :flame:  Or they take the off ramp, and then get back on the on ramp. :flame:

Amen brother. I do it all the time. I figure it this way, and trust me, I look. Its always a mexican, (no offense) an asian, or a female.
Now none of whom were brought up to drive. (a car) They weren't raised by starting on a big wheel and then the coveted garden tractor. They were tossed into a privilege never understanding. They didn't earn it, it's basically an inconvenience of moving from one place to another. Driving is serious business. If you don't have the respect it deserves then take the bus. (rant over) I usually run the hazards/flashers, daily.
