On my Cadillac, 95 SLS, I can drain the tranny by simply unhooking the feed side of the cooler and pump it out which from what I hear is a standard practice for changing fluid but obviously not the filter....

Question is, can I drain my mopar tranny in the same way without doing any damage?

The reason is that I need to drop the pan on my D200 and NEED to salvage the tranny fluid as it is all new and the loose pan method is a little messy....

If no one has done it, I am willing to give it a whirl.....  :2thumbs:

Thanks

get some small tubing & go down the filler tube & siphon it out,it may be slow but it will work

I suppose I could do that too, I have a pump which would do nicely but I figure it would be a quick and easy way to get the fluid out....
