OK, I'm planning on what to spend my money on when I win the Powerball tonight :icon_smile_big:

WHich one do you prefer?

About the same money, I'm leaning towards the Mr. Norm's car but it would be neat to buy the F&F car and restore it- maybe sell all the BS stuff they tacked on as a kit to someone?  "Build your own Vin Diesel replica!"

Tilar

I'm not really a fan of movie cars that were "modified" like the F&F car. That's going a bit too far for my taste. The first one would be my choice.

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Mr. Norm's Hemi Charger for me!

Ghoste

Not even a moment hesitating to think about this one, the Mr. Norms Charger all the way!

JB400

Wasn't much for F&F series, they didn't make them without destroying more mopars.  Life's grande with a car from Grand Spalding! :2thumbs:

Beat me to that one, Ghoste. My thoughts exactly.
Is there REALLY a decision to be made here??  :shruggy:

Norms or FF? Real car or a toy? Norms all the way. :2thumbs:

I'm probably subverting your point with my answer - but for that money neither one.    That Mr. Norm's car is beautiful, I'm just not too big on trailer queens, and would rather have two or three nice drivers.   You could only drive that thing 50 feet per year and you'd have to be worried about it all the time.

Now if I were a billionaire collector, the answer would be the Mr. Norm's car hands down.   As for the Vin-Douchebag mobile: being in F&F doesn't add any value for me, and in fact I'd probably pay less for it than any other movie Charger I could think of.   That movie was all about Honda Civics and Mitsubishi Eclipses and in 2001 inspired the douchebag rice jockey kids to make the movie theater an unbearable place to go to for about 2 months. Nothing a parking lot full of assholes doing front-wheel-drive burnouts at 200 decibels through their fartcannon exhausts while I'm trying to take a date to the movies.   "OMG BRO LOOK AT ME DRIFT THROUGH THE PARKING LOT IN MY PIECE OF SHIT 1993 NISSAN 240SX AND ALMOST HIT SOME SENIOR CITIZENS."

Take a time machine back to 1970.  Find an adult with a nice '32 Ford hot rod, and ask him what he thinks of the teenagers in their modern muscle cars.

I see what you're getting at, but it's not even close.  The guys building hot rods in the 50's had much more in common - both in their culture and their hobby - with the guys building muscle cars than either have with these entitlement babies driving plastic Japanese econoboxes around with a giant wing bolted on the trunk and a NOS sticker with nothing going on under the hood.

NONE OF THEM!!!! Im sorry Norm is a good guy and all, but Your over paying on both cars just because a NAME has been slapped on these chargers!!!

To me its equivalent to saying, "if you put XXX amount of dollars into my charger im selling you would triple the profits, have you seen barret Jackson auction same care went for 250k'  ::)

Ghoste

Yeah, just like Shelby on a Mustang or Nickey on a Camaro.  (I'm being sarcastic, I guess I'm willing to pay a little more for a Mr. Norm car)

JB400

Forget the name on the car, look at it this way, HEMI,  LOW MILEAGE,  ALL ORIGINAL CHARGER!!!   I think that is what we need to look at.    :Twocents:

Ghoste

I've seen that car in person and although not recently, I can tell you it was one nice Charger.  If you think buying the Norm's car is just paying for the name, what would that other thing be worth without the F&F connection?

A383Wing

just get both and be done with it

Exactly.   At least one of the movie cars had a GM smallblock and a fake blower on the hood.

About the same as your car or any general lee if the shows and DMCl  never made it to the big screen.  About the only names that are worth anything is Shelby, Yenko, and Obama.  I was just looking at the cars themselves without the identity to prove a point.  But I will agree with you that a certain name on a car does add a little more value to a car.  Same way with a pop culture identity.  Maybe, that's why both cars are bringing similar money.  Personal preference: Norm

I guess you could say the media made the 2nd gen charger more popular than the rest, but in all honesty I still perfer the 2nd gen over all gens media or not.

JB400

The media helped, but according to sales,  2nd gen Chargers were and always will be popular. :2thumbs:

As if most of the Musclecars on the street 30 years ago were much faster than stock?  In those days they sold a hell of a lot more glasspacks & air shocks than they ever did genuine performance mods.  It's always been that way.

The guys who are serious enough about the hobby to stay in it for decades are the ones building genuinely fast cars, and they always were.  The majority of the kids who once drove cheap used musclecars in the 1970s/80s were spending a few bucks on their car to look/sound cooler, and little or nothing more.  Those kids left the hobby a few years later when they could afford a more expensive newer car.  The hobby collectively does not remember them as well now.

Well, Mike, His name is "hatersaurusrex"....

There are Imports that have all that stupid sh*t on 'em and will blow your best effort in the weeds with something like 2000 HP Supra's. I don't condone "posing" either if you are trying too hard like the posers usually do....However, there will always be the "K&N Cold air(Which many happen to be "Hot air" kit") bolt-on people.
It's the ones that go through the parking lots making that "Gulping" sound by stomping the throttle every two seconds that kill it for me.
" I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours researching what works and what doesn't and I'm willing to share"

1974dodgecharger

from the sound of it you make it like thse little teens who buy civics and TRY to make it faster are going to leave the import scene and those same civics are gonna be worth some money later.....

i kid i kid.... :icon_smile_big:

Civics valuable?  Yeah, eventually.
There was once a time when '69 Chargers were $500 used cars too.

I'd bet on 1990s Toyota Supra Turbos being valuable someday.

Now the facxt that the Mr. Norm car is being sold by the place that GG is vice president of would hurt the value a little for me.  :smilielol:  (just kidding, well mostly kidding anyway)
