Saw an old episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives today (Multitaskers, Episode DV1308H).  It featured the Boulevard Diner in Dundalk, MD.  Looked like it had a Gen-2 charger in Plum Crazy in the opening shots, as Guy was walking in from the parking lot.

Anyone else see this?  Sorry I don't have a link to the show.

And more importantly, does it belong to anyone here?

I asked a guy who works on the DDD film crew;

QuoteThey played with the idea of changing cars in each town, not sure if
it was a thematic thing or out of necessity since the camaro may not
have been running well back then

In the early days, I hear that they had a heck of a time keeping the Camaro on the road, even for short shots...

I think Camero owners in general have a hard time keeping them on the road.   :2thumbs:  Charger owners on the other hand, have a hard time getting them back on the road.  But once they're there, they're there. :icon_smile_big:

I ate at two places (one in Maine & one in Virginia) that that spiked haired chubby goofball featured & they both were nothing to write home about. Because of that, I've stopped watching his show.

So it isn't likely even his Camaro then is it?

From what I understand, the Camaro belongs to the production company. As I understand it (and the comments above would back this up, again), in the beginning they weren't dead set on using the Camaro. Once they settled on using it exclusively though they wanted to actually drive it from location to location. Mainly for authenticity I guess. They gave it a go but quickly bit the bullet and purchased an enclosed trailer and a truck. As the Camaro sits now, it looks good (as good as a Chevy can, sorry, had to) and is mostly functional but she's a trailer queen intended for brief camera shots and nothing more.

What's fun about owning a cool car of any breed if you ain't going to drive the thing.  Museum cars don't count.  Most of them do get driven, or are inop.
Cars are an investment, I do understand, but the bragging rights of having one and actually owning one and driving it are two seperate things; even if driving means just on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons.  At least you get a chance to go back in time and enjoy a piece of the past.  Then yugo to the gas station and fill up at $3.75 on up a gallon and your back in modern times again.  ;)

It would be better if he got out of the way so we all can get a better look.  Of what I did see, it looked good. :2thumbs:
