I lost a couple of professors who taught my fire classes at New Jersey City University.  They were both on FDNY.  A good friend of mine who is on my volunteer fire dept is also on the job on FDNY and was supposed to work that fateful day but switch with another rookie.  He is still having survivors remorse.

It is hard to believe it has been 11 years already.

I just can not believe they have not finished the building yet.  Not only is the building shorter than the other two (yes, I know it has some BS spiral) they can not finish it in 11 years?  Just another fine example of city/state/federal government interjecting themselves.

Some in the federal govmnt are asking that this day be a day of service. I dont quite agree with that. 911 is a wound we endured, a great pain and loss for so many. IMHO It should be a time of rememberence and prayer for those that we lost on that day. It seems to me that some are trying to make this day more like a celebration or a holiday. I just dont agree with that. And I wont take my eye off the ball per say. The ones that did this to us are still active. Our fight with them is not yet over, and not yet forgiven. Regardless of what some leaders would like us to think.

That's just plain ridiculous. I agree it should be a time of rememberence and prayer for those that were lost on that day.

That complaint would be made no matter when we pulled out.  That's just the nature of this type of conflict.

Unfortunately, our leaders would do anything to get a vote.  Here's  :2thumbs: for our friends and family overseas and a  :patriot: to those that are no longer here because of any conflict past and present.

I was a bit out of commission due to medical.  Were there any good rememberance shows on TV?

PS: besides the obvious I remember as my youngest was born two days after...

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
      a liberal, oh fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable!

Nothing that you probably haven't seen before.  At least on my cable anyway.
