Has the bootleg industry vanished as recorded media dwindles?  I don't mean piracy of legit recordings, I know the internet has made that part explode and I know bootlegs still exist.  I'm talking about the media portion as in the physical way in which it was traded/  As the music business moved away from transferring music to a cd or tape or vinyl album whatever and went to online retailing, did it make it harder for the bootleggers?  I used to attend record shows years ago and thye were out in force but i haven't been to one in a long time so of course have no idea.

I'm not sure today's bands are worth recording.  Back in the day when Led Zeppelin or The Who came through you had to have the concert but nowadays I don't think the demand is there anymore.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Most bands openly allow recording of shows now. With cell phones and such it is hard to prevent. I suspect it also provides free advertisement for their shows when uploaded to Youtube.
