hard starting, blowing gas out of carb

Been a while but I'm back with stupid questions. Just had the wire harness replaced and now I'm having issues starting the car(73 charger  se with 440, 1/2" lift , eldebrock proformer intake holley 750 carb). I've replaced the rotor, cap, wires and plugs(NKG, 0.40 gap, stock coil) and I still have trouble starting. Gas will blow out of the carb, most of the time I'll get gas vapor flowing out of the carb. When it goes catch it runs ok. If I restart right after I turn it off it'll start, usually. If I wait 5-10 minutes then it's the hard start issue again. I have an electric pump getting 5-7psi before start then about 4 psi at idle. I have notice a "grunting" sound from the carb area if I let the pump run for half a minute or so. Any ideas?
