How about posting links/places where you found these less expensive?

Maybe there should be a "save money on parts" thread, where people include where they found discounted prices on parts. I think it'd be helpful for everyone.

Last night I did a cost comparison on four parts at four different online stores. PG Classic, Dale's Cuda Shop, Vans Auto and Megaparts. The parts were outside door handles, front arm rest bases, console light bezels and door sill plates.

Totals
PG Classic: $318
Dales': $265
Vans: $335
Megaparts: $335

Dale's has the door handles on sale (as does PG) but the big savings is the console bezels at $80/pr. where the other three places charge $125. I was surprised at Megaparts and Vans. Usually their pricing is much more competitive.

I do not want to start bashing the other companies pricing so I will just post the "deal"

I have bought form these guys before They usally have great prices This is a very expensive hobby that most of us do for the love of these great cars. Speaking for myself I will be lucky if I break even on the value of my restored car compaired to the money I put into it.

Correction, Dale's total is actually $207.83 not $265. And then another 15% off that with code DFWLX. Money in the bank!

EDIT - Ooops. I somehow accidentally dropped the arm rest bases off the above order so add $48 to the total. $256 incl. shipping. :slap:

That's a great deal. I have been buying parts for over 10 years now. I started buying what I could when I had "extra" money .I  knew one day I would need the parts. Glad I did many of the items I bought have gone up in price alot or are no longer avalable. I always shopped around to see who had the best deal with the lowest shipping. I did a purchace of about $1500 worth of sheet metal from 1 vender and asked them to match the price on 2 items they did. I bet I have saved many 1000 on shoppping around. My car has been a LONG time coming but I look back at the boxes of brand new parts I bought and smile I did most of it $50 at a time.
