I thought the difference in the game was simple. BIG PLAYS. Steelers offense was pathetic and predictable but managed 3 big plays. Seattle played much better offensively but was unable to make big plays. Also, the Seattle punter kept punting for touchbacks instead of pinning the Steelers down. Its kind of funny that after i watched the game last night, i went to bed with the impression that there was a few 3-4 questionable but close calls. Today, the monday morning arm-chair QB's have taken issue with almostevery flag thrown against Seattle.  I still cant understand the retarded arguement about the "phantom" push off. There was nothing phantom about it. Jackson pushed off, creating minimal seperation. I will concede the fact that this is a call that is not always made. very few offensive pass int calls are made, even when they are flagrant.

waaaah waaaaaah waaaaaah.

There was no 'phantom push'. The rules say you cant make contact with the other player. Period. That's the rule, and technically it was a correct call. Maybe it should have been a matter of judgment left to the official's discretion, but if we want to go that route, then you could argue that Hasselbeck's fumble after that run should have been called as one, since he was already on his way down when the Steeler's player's hand barely grazed him and it really had no bearing on him losing the ball. As far as Ben's TD, they made the best call they could. That was a hard call to make w/ replays from different angles, let alone live at full speed. Still, you need irrefutable evidence to overturn a call, and the replays didnt provide it.

Here's the bottom line, and you 'hawks fans need to stop your whining:

The officials might have blown some calls but Seattle didnt really need their help in losing the game. Did the officials miss two field goals? Did they blow the coverage on Ward on that trick play? Did they throw an interception in the red zone and blow a chance to grab the lead?  ::)

I completely agree.  This wasn't a last-second, 1 point victory, and Seattle did more to lose it than the refs ever could.  That and most of these calls will be so controversial that the refs would have gotten crap for them either way.
