Saw this on Racing Junk. Anyone interested in buying a race track (or two)? The seller has 2 for sale, one in Alabama, the other in North Carolina. I'll leave it to the Forum to comment on his style of salesmanship. :scratchchin:

Not an opportunity that comes every day is it?  I like that "double the schedule, double the revenue".

So, you're buying a lease.   :rotz: Bad Economy, $3,000/month lease, running expense, employees, insurance ect. ect. = Not a great deal IMO.

I didn't get that far, no you are right it isn't much of a deal without any physical assets.

myk

It'd be worth owning a race track just so I could do laps in the car whenever I wanted to, however I wanted to.  Oprah or John Travolta money would be nice...

Fred

Wouldn't it just be great? You'd never have to worry about speeding tickets again.
How do we get our hands on some? (money I mean) I'm open to suggestions.  :icon_smile_big:

Exactaly, to be honest i wouldnt buy it to make money....id buy it to do laps every day, build my house smack in the middle. Wake up, take a shower, drink a cup of coffee...and go race  :icon_smile_big: that would be a dream. Invite all my DC.com buds...and of course open it up to the public on some days as that simply would be fair.

How about this, could be a personal not for profit track, have a nominal fee for some things and if your attending and want to race...than you need to also help.

But i havent one the lotto yet. Quote me, cause if i do ill be sure to buy a track and invite all of you guys to come!

I wonder what insurance rates would be on a racetrack?  The liability charge has to be insane.

Indygenerallee

You bet your ass the insurance is nuts, a guy I know has a mud track for 4 wheelers and tough truck competitons it's on his property but he has it set up real nice and has quite a turnout (enough to have a big concession stand and covered bleachers) he said he has to buy a bond each time they have a event, he ran a monster truck and he said if it were something he really did not enjoy he would not do it because he was basically breaking even after all was said and done.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Ghoste

Between that, rising property tax, and whining neighbors who moved from the city to the country next door to a race track! its little wonder so many have closed.

Indygenerallee

Your right, and his is way out in the country in a field!!! Taxes, Taxes, Taxes, and more insurance!! No wonder this country is in the shit hole. :flame:

If people would just stop whinging, suing, complaining and stop wanting it all their own way things would be just fine.
