Jackie, I know all too well bout hurt backs with Wifey and such. I know it isn't much, but hope it helps you out in some way or nuther. PS, Wifey's name is on the PP addy so don't be alarmed, as I posted a little note to let you know it twas just "Cooter"...

Just when you think you've had it bad, someone/something comes along and allows you to reallize just how lucky you've been all along. Hope things get better for you. So sorry all this BS happened to you. Doesn't seem fair at times. My hats off to 'ya for handling things so well.
Cooter, Thank so much. My prayers go out to you and your wife. Back pain sucks. If you never had  it you wouldn't understand. A little story that pulled me thru the 2nd accident, I got really depressed and was really feeling sorry for myself. There was a 17 yr old girl in the hosital that lost her leg. And she was always smiling and cheering everone up. And I realized that my life wasn't that bad.  :2thumbs:

Been busy with work and so on.  Life catches up with you.

Ugh... I had no idea, Jackie. You are quite the fighter. Be strong.
You've done a few thoughtful favors for me, I'd be happy to return something back to you. Good karma. Keep a lookout from me as well.

You are one tough SOB Jackie! I so hope the surgeries go well and your recovery goes well. I have never met you, but figure anyone who gives Chuck crap is certainly worth it. :icon_smile_big:

Anyway, I sent prayers to God and money to paypal. Or was it prayers to paypal and money to God? Can't remember now... :shruggy:

Jackie,

Wow.  I am so sorry to hear this.  I will have to give you a call on my way home from work tonight.  You and Shelby are adopted family, of course you can expect something from me and my family for all the things you have done for us!  Actually, instead of sending just money, I'll send a little something more.  I'll let it be a surprise until you open up the package.

Feel better "ma".

You guys may want to use this site:

http://www.gofundme.com/

It lets people donate to a cause and shows a total amount against a goal if you want.    No I'm not affiliated with the site, my wife's Roller Derby team is using it right now is how I know about it.   Seems like a cool idea and it's worked really well for them :)

I guess you can be thankful none of the spine breaks affected your spinal column?

But good gravy, if I were you I'd be scared to death to be out on the road in a motor vehicle.   :o

Now's not a good time for me but please know that in the future I'll have a little $$ extra that I can send.  I need to start liquidating in my garage.
My daughter's soccer is absolutely draining us.  That's OK though, wouldn't have it any other way.

I now have to pay $1600 @ year just to continue to see my general Dr.
Rumor we get is this Obamacare will turn the healthcare industry on it's head.

Paypal as a gift, no cost to you or her

yup....no fees taken out for gifting money to anyone

Bryan

That no longer seems to be the case. I was charged $1.75 yesterday when I sent money even though I used the 'gift - living expenses' option.

Was your funding source a bank account or PayPal CC?

Hey Jackie, I'm new guy to the group. hope you get well soon.  No one should have to go through what you are.  Best of wishes.

If your Paypal account is tied to your credit card and the credit card company is taking a piece then Paypal is probably grabbing that amount back from you. I don't know this for sure but it would make sense. I sent her a "gift" on PayPal and it never charged me a fee, but mine comes out of a bank account I set up for paypal only transactions.

$1600 a year is quite a bargain.  Once this new healthcare thing gets a good head of steam built up, that $1600 won't cover 3 months premium. I'm at $4200 a year right now for health insurance.

Premium?  We have insurance through my wife already, she works at the local hospital.  I also have Medicare Plan A & B.

What I have through my Dr. is called MDVIP.  He only sees 400 patients & spends a half hour with each one every month.
