Road Trip, What do you suggest?

I'm taking the Charger on it's first road trip. Nothing real long, about 170 miles total. Columbus to Norwalk for the Mopar show on 9/14-16. I'm not taking the freeway, just scenic byways. What do you put in the trunk to be prepared?

 Spare tyre and tools aside........a picnic basket full of goodies to tide you over until road side assist arrives.

Tools that you would need to repair small problems. Mainly leaks and loose things. Is the Charger freshly restored? Or has it just been put back on theroad?

 This is what i carry in the trunk at all times. Tools, voltage regulator, orange box,starter relay,fuseable link, coil, ballast resistor, booster cables, spare belts,fuel pump push rod, extra fluids,spare tire and a good jack.

What do you put in the trunk to be prepared?

A credit card, your favorite beer, and a woman. Two if they will fit.

I used to (still do on longer trips where others may need it) carry a timing light and whatever I need to set timing. It's amazing how many people on the Power Tour were in the parking lot 1000 miles from home still twisting their distributors.

Always, before a road trip the car comes up off the ground and I go over everything. Besides the simple fluid level checks all the rubber parts, fuel lines, tranny lines, brake lines, etc. get a looking at. Belts and hoses too. If the car is not running right at home, it wont run right on the trip. Take an afternoon trip with it before your planned trip just to make sure nothing sounds funny, overheats, or leaks. I have done Power tour, a couple overnight trips to Vegas, lots of one day trips. All without any trouble. Prepare in advance and your trip should go off without a hitch.

Spare tire,  jack,  and whatever tools come in a good roadside emergency kit.    A spare ecu, coil, and ballast resister.

How many of us carry this stuff even for short trips?  I don't lug around the full road trip case anymore but I used to have quite the travelling roadside repair kit in the trunk at all times.
