Here are some more pics I found of the vehicles for the new Mad Max Fury Road movies coming out next year I had posted in the Charger only about a 73-74 Charger but I felt since these are not Chargers I would post them here!

There is some creativity there for sure. I love the caddy
I'm smarter than I act, But I don't act smarter than I am.

Indygenerallee

I love the Turbo Supercharged motor!! The Caddy is the coolest vehicle I have seen as they sectioned the bottom one and made it wider for the top one to rest on and the dual machine guns on the upper fins are a nice touch as well!!

Ghoste

They certainly have the Mad Max look.

One of the local boys in my town i grew up with is working on the cars. Pictures are top secret not many getting around there is a least one valiant charger in the new movie.

Ghoste

The previous ones were all Australian cars were they not?

Indygenerallee

Yes the ones in the original were all Australian cars, I would love to have a 73 Falcon XB GT!!

'OP thanks for posting the pictures.  In my humble opinion though the cars look "too" customized.  In a post apocalyptic world there wouldn't be the means or even the technique to build vehicles such as those. Take a look at the original 'Max movies-those were cars that weren't too far from factory stock save for the weathering and damaged, graffiti infested bodies.  Sure, there were some custom jobs but for the most part the vehicles were just nuclear war survivors.  The cars we're looking at here look like Monster Truck Jam contestants.  Again we have Hollyweird concentrating on the boom & flash aspect of the movie, the vehicles and whatnot, when what's supposed to be drawing people to this movie is the story about humans on the verge of extinction and the erosion of humanity.

Anyway, what is Max driving this time around?  I bet it's the same Mustang from the new Death Race movie...

Indygenerallee

Myk, you need to go back and watch the Road Warrior, the vehicles were custom all the way in that movie, most had roofs hacked off and totally different front ends welded on to other make cars, Heck Mad Max's Black 73 Falcon XB GT "Interceptor" had a custom front end, dual spoilers, Weiand Supercharger, crazy sidepipes.  There were several built and blown dune buggies. The director is the same director from the original movies, All these vehicles are in the same exact vein as the original built vehicles in the Road Warrior,
and Mad Max is to be driving the 73 Falcon XB GT "Interceptor" as this movie is suppose to take place in the same time frame or shortly before the "Road Warrior" No Mustang was ever used in any Mad Max movie.

I believe there's at least 2 Valiant Chargers in the new movie.....

Were there any Valiant Chargers in the original(s)?

Here a couple pics of the 1973 Falcon XB GT the same car that was turned into the "Interceptor" The red one is actor Eric Bana's race car very cool car there is a documentary on it,  You can see how much they modified cars for the movie as they are almost unrecognizable from the production versions.

Doctor, That's a great looking 73 you have!! For some reason I have always liked the Aussie Chargers and although im really not a Ford guy I would love to have a 73-76 Falcon/Fairmont to turn into a Mad Max Interceptor, I had a lead on a 75 Falcon that a guy had in Georgia super clean car but it had no title!! He wanted $15,000 and it did not have a drivetrain but the no title scared me as I figured getting a title from a Australian made Ford would probably not end in my favor!!! Last I checked nice Falcon XB's were going for $25,000-$35,000

doctor4766

Thanks, but actually you mean the Charger I had. Just sold it a couple of weeks ago.
Yeah the Falcons are getting a bit thin on the ground now over here.
If they havent already been restored, then they're usually rusting away somewhere.
The coupes were, and are still very popular here, especially for the "40 somethings" who grew up with them in the '70s and couldn't necessarily afford them back in the day.
I'd say if that one in GA was still available, you should be looking into whether you could get a title, then maybe make him an offer....  No big deal finding a 302 or 351 over there I wouldn't think.
Gotta love a '69

Indygenerallee

Yes, that was 10 years ago so I am sure it's long gone if I could have went back I would have bought it but at the time the title scared me off good!

GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

Ghoste

Thats kinda cool, I wouldn't have thought many people stateside would go to the trouble to clone one of those.

doctor4766

Probably done here and sold to a US buyer?

Gotta love a '69

Ghoste

Thats quite possible.  Are they a fairly popular thing clone up in Australia?

Indygenerallee

Stuart the Falcon looks cool! They should have painted it gloss black though!?

C_stripes

Here's one that they should have built. :) I can't wait to start work. Boredom is getting the best of me.

I still need put some details into it, but you get the idea.

And this is my zombie apocalypse vehicle.

I drew it a while back.
I'm smarter than I act, But I don't act smarter than I am.

I always use to take car models and airplane models and make wild "Mad Max" type vehicles as a kid, I never liked instructions!!  :smilielol:

Ive seen a couple here on the West Coast and there'd be a few over east Im sure.
Not exactly the kind of car you'd want to drive on a regular basis though. Might just attract a little attention from the cops.
Ill see if I can find a pic of the regular persuit car from the flick that Ive seen recently.

edit. Here it is, the Interceptor. Not my pic

Any guess on a date the movie will be out ?
MOPAR OR NO CAR !!

Indygenerallee

They are still filming in Africa so no one knows for certain I would presume Summer 2013, Doctor that is a really accurate clone of Max's Interceptor!! NICE!!!

doctor4766

You know they made those Falcons in lots of body styles right?
Apart from the coupes and sedans, there were also wagons, utes and panel vans.
Even a few hearses....

edit:  actually Ford, Chrysler AND GM Holden did that with a lot of the models here
Gotta love a '69

Indygenerallee

Yes, I have researched most all the Australian cars and "Ute's" I would love to visit Australia someday to take a look at them up close, as well as all the other sights there as well!! Would be a good family vacation.

my brother is a huge mad max fan. the biggest ive ever seen. years ago he had a kz1000 he would rides everywhere and would wear tore up style clothes with his old hipoint boots. a couple years ago we where driving home after a fun day at wildcat autowrecking he was blabbing on about something dumb and i see an xbgt falcon coming down the road the opposite way. i told him to check out the mad max car right as it passed us by and he almost sh!t a brick. he started begging me to turn around and catch that car so he can try and get a picture standing next to his dream car. so i turned around and back pedaled for at least 10 or more miles and didnt see the car. right when i saw about to turn around we saw the car and caught up to it. the whole time i was thinking this guy is gonna think he's getting car jacked and take off but he was really cool and let me take a couple pictures of his car and even let my brother sit in the drivers seat.  the first 2 pictures are of my brother in the driver seat as max rockatansky. the next 2 are the inside. very detailed in every way. even had the fake blower in top with the switch on the shifter.
1969 coronet wagon

Nwcharger

the rest are various shots i tool of the car while my brother talked to the owner. he said something about the car being filmed and in some kind of dvd box set but i dont really remember. it also had some autographs on a dash plaque but i dont know who signed it but im sure my brother would. in the last picture you can see my car we were driving that day. not as rare as an xbgt but its a jdm 1989 crx sir that is factory right hand drive and twice the power of any us made crx. my brother thinks the only reason the guy stopped and talked was because my car was right hand drive witch is not very common thing to see besides the mailman

I hauled some of the cars and trucks back from Broken Hill into Alexandria(Sydney ) for them to be shipped out to South Africa ,  the twin stacked caddy is a beast twin blown motors side by side , when they fired it up made the building shake .
Max's Black coupe returns , there was a hero and a fully caged stunt car , almost identical to Mad max 2 , but was missing one of the big rear fuel tanks .
Another cool vehicle was a Ford Mainline ute , with dual wide rear wheels , and a big swinging arm with a dead engine/trans attached to it, for smashing .

It caused alot of cb chatter and crowds when i pulled up , even with the loads covered , people new what they where from . It sucks , they went with cheap South african labour , over filming it in Broken Hill and Silverton NSW .

I thought they went overseas as we had to much rain at the time and everything was going to be too green.

GL#10

Thats what they what you to believe ,  it wasn't that green out there ,plus that's not the only place down here where they could have shot it , came down to the $$$ .

Most of the vehicles will be left behind once filming is done is south africa , only a few of the cars will be shipped back to Oz .

TruckDriver

You will have to try to get one of them left behind for your self, and bring it back. I might be wrong, but I don't think there is much of a car culture down there. So, I would imagine, most left behind will just be torn apart and recycled.

there is a HUGE muscle car culture in south africa, their factories also had oddball overpowered euro-cars with american v8s, like vauxhall firenza 327, ford sierra (merkur xr4ti) 302cid.

Well, I learned something new today

Yearh way ahead of you on that , i got a couple contacts when i was hauling the vehicles and put my hand up for one or two , once they where done filming .

I believe they filmed death race 2 in South Africa , i bet most of those cars if any where left where left behind .
