After looking this morning around dc.com I found kikgas01 thread and it blew me away.

He found my very first car I bought in 1983 in San Diego for $500. I was shaking so bad I couldn't even type.
There was no mistaking it, I knew every thing that was there was put there by me.

Nothing has been done to it since i sold it in 1995. I knew it went to Hawaii, probably why the bumpers are rusted up.

It is all original sheet metal, it was hit on the left side and has bondo in the fender door and rear quarters. The trunk was rusted, but back then there was no ADM.

The window still leaks, dam body guy didn't replace any metal.

It was really a plan jane Charger with just an am radio and power steering.
383 2v auto with 2.76 8 3/4

Drove it back and forth to high school, took it to college where I unrolled in auto shop classes so I could maybe be an auto mechanic.

It was my pride and joy for years, can't believe a sold it, but I moved to the midwest to start a new job and I had bills to pay off before i went.

Lots of regrets, kicking myself for years, wishing I could go back and still have it with me.

I feel joy today for the first time in 17 years; it was still in together running, I hope, it's still alive.

That pos and me made it to the muscle car nationals and won 1st place in Sac Calif. It's best time was 13.04 & 104 with the Dana 3.54 gears.

It was 4080lb with me in it. boy it was hell stopping it at the end, I was 2 footing it all the way to the end.

Thanks kikgas01 you are my hero, congrats.

p.s. sorry about the stripe, I should have never put it on.

Thanks, we did have a great talk for over an hour.

The man truly saved it, can't tell you how amazing I am on how good the mechanical condition it's in.
Nothing has been done to it since 1995. This find is nothing short of amazing, it's crazy.

We will see what the future will hold, but in the meantime he has a great Charger with super bones and history not to many cars have.

Thanks again Shane

Wow, really cool story.

It does kind of put kikgas01 in a weird place.

No, he and I will try and do something to get what we both want and that's a solid Charger.

It's on me now, I think we will be very satisfied with the end results.

2 very happy Charger owners. :2thumbs:

This would make for a GREAT story for the Mopar mag!!!!!!The keys are in it guys!!!!!! I wonder if the keychaid is Ed`s old one. I will have to take a pic of it lol.He did a great job on it, it still looks and runs great. Gonna probably tune it up but man it runs good.It is a VERY sweet/solid Charger. Indy is right I love chargers and have had 4 this year including this. The hunt was on for a solid,  rust free one and kept getting rusty/crusty ones and then it happened,,,,, I looked 20 years for a Charger in nice shape as this that I can get in and drive where evere I want with no problems and this is this car. EVERYTHING works on it.(except the license plate light and the bulb is good)
The trunk had surface rust. NO holes. He is making it sound worse than it is lol.  :D

BB1

Yep, you found the best Charger for the money, because it was built by little old me.  ;D
I am a perfectionest spent thousands of hours back in the mid 80's building it.
The paint is ameron and was painted in 1988, engine, trans, dana, where all rebuilt in the late 80's

I won the muscle car national with it in 1989.

If it had an 8-track there would be a Def Leppard cassette in it.

Awesome  story. I love hearing & reading about stuff like this. I found my very first car (70 Charger R/T) that I bought when I was 15 years old also. I bought it before I was even old enough to have a driver license. It is now located a few hours away from me but the current owner refuses to talk about it & claims he will never sell it , EVER. Sucks for me. I located it thru a buddy of his. I haven't givin up yet though. Cool story. I hope the two of you can work something out.
