General Lee Restorers (reputable) - urgent

Sorry for being a noob (my Dad would probably hang his head if he even knew I was asking the question), but I'm trying to price these parts for him and I have no clue  So on the General Lee, is this skin just painted the same colour as the body? or is there an actual hardtop to buy?

Nothing wrong with being a noob, you'll be an expert on these things before long. 

There is no hardtop, all Chargers had the steel skin roof and either had it painted or covered in vinyl in which case the c-pillar chrome trim was added.  On non vinyl top cars the trim was absent.

The General Lee was a non vinyl top car so the roof is painted.  Most GL's did not have any chrome trim on the c-pillars but Lee 1 did, along with the SE rocker trim.

The only reason you would need that roof skin is if you buy a vinyl top car that has a lot of rust.  Usually you end up removing half the roof skin with the vinyl top as they are really bad moisture collectors.

Haha, getting tempting - but we'll have a look at a couple more, if they fall through, we're going there in person to sort this out!  Literally. If we have to fly around the place to check out a few, that's what's going to have to be done

As a point of clarification, the rocker trim was not an SE item, only. In fact, it could have been on any number of Charger models, not exclusive to an SE.

Ah, did not know that.  I always thought it was part of the SE package.  Thanks for clarifying.
