there is some details about this kind cap. I have seen with spring on center brush and fixed but without the vent valve, then also aluminium terminals and brass.

These kind of details can make some very special and specific cap for some specific model or year correctness. That's the kind of stuff maybe will make it worth even $50, maybe being regular MADE IN USA tan replacements can be found around $15... BUT $425 ?... and HEY, is a STARTING PRICE AUCTION, not even a BUY IT NOW... How much he expected to get starting an auction like that ?

agreed, I sold an NOS 2585000 cap last year, $175....they fetch no more than $250 max today if you hold out looking for the cash is no object buyer, but most sell in the $150-$200 range
