Really sorry when I saw the headline.

I remember the landing and have had the good fortune to have worked on some of the rocks collected on that mission.

Also Just visited a place in NW Australia (Carnarvon) where I learned from some older guy that they ran a coax from the communications station to the local theatre just to show the moon landing because they did not have TV.

ALso cool because they have a trailer from Greenbelt MD just up the road from me now.

Those were the days when we really could go to the Moon.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

bull

This is the best pic of him. The "one giant leap for mankind" pics are cool but there's no Charger in those backgrounds.

What you wanted to type for a thread title was......Neil Armstrong wont be down for TANG ...........

Class of 1959!  :2thumbs:

As a kid in grammar school during the 1960s, the space program was just awesome to me. Yup, I built all the models too.

Tilar

I remember watching that on TV... I also remember watching JFK issue the challenge that we land on the moon. That was quite an accomplishment for the USA... Now NASA is all but shut down.

Sad news.

I was just a kid, but I remember the first moon landing like it was yesterday...

They'd be lucky to have it now lol
Gotta love a '69

TUFCAT

He definately earned our RESPECT. :2thumbs:  ....In those days anybody would be scared shitless of even landing on the moon!  Walking on the moon was nothing short of a miracle. :patriot:  Nobody has done it since.  :notworthy:

Same here, remember watching it on T.V. If he was to be cremated, they should send a small amount of him on the next Mars lander. That way he can be the first man on Mars. I think it would be nice. R.I.P.

It's kind of impressive when you think that his foot prints are probably still on the moon.

With Humilty being a Holy-trait, there isn't a more fitting person in all of humanity at the time to be the 1st person to accomplish such a mission.

God Speed Neil Armstrong..

Most of the human race can only dream of going where no man has gone before; this man has actually done it and is doing it yet again.  God Bless you, good man...

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

After reading all the rebuttals and seeing some Mythbusters episodes on the topic, it actually looks like it would be more difficult to accurately fake a moon landing than it would be to actually land on the moon.

My question now is, when this Virgin music guy gets his private space ships flying around and perhaps takes some pics of the lunar landing sites (like the rovers, flags and what's left of the Eagle) will the tinfoil hat guys finally shut up? Or with they simply say that he's in on the conspiracy? I think NASA just needs to swing a satellite camera by the moon once and take some pics of it all. That would at least get these clowns ramped up again.

Theres supposed to be a reflector up there that you can shoot a laser at and get reflection. A proof that they were there deal so to speak.

Do the moon lander conspiracy freaks have trouble with Apollo 11 only and are ok with Apollo 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17 or do they think all were faked?
