My 66 318 has the Stromberg 2bbl and I need some advice on adjusting, the engine seems to run ok but smelling the exaust tells me im running too rich.I have a vacuum gauge,do I hook it to the manifold to get the best results? Do I start out on the jets 1 1/2 turns out? I could use some instruction on this so I can finally get it right
This is gonna be cheap and easy......

Jets are internal , the mixture screws generally start around 1.5 turns out from bottom basically turn them out until the rpm / vacuum quits rising & turn them back in until the rpm just starts to drop , you want them sitting at the leanest mix that maintains the highst rpm / vacuum

I'll try it-while I got ur attention, what makes the rear shoes on the front brake drums split at mid point rivets on both sides?
