Bora Bora, Anybody been there?

This is to me the most beautiful place on earth for a vacation.  I'm hell bent on getting there some day.   What do you guys think?   Hell, I might even take my wife with me.

I have, during my merchant navy days. It is truly beautiful and believe me when I say........no need to take the Mrs. ..........you won't need her.   The natives are extremely friendly!

Well, I guess it's you and me Fred going to Bora Bora.   Jim said he wants to come but only if we promise to take him duck hunting.  Not sure what he means by that but I told him OK.

OK but tell Jim the only feather's I'll be checking out are the ones adorning the natives! (they don't fly away.........they don't run away either......and I know what I'm talking about, trust me)    He can take it or leave it.  
And for all our sakes...........don't let the good lady wife get a look at this.

Most of the population is too poor to go there. Have you checked the prices lately?

The water really is that blue!  Yes it was very expensive and a once in a lifetime trip.  There are down sides . . . 16 hours to get there . . . food was terrible, drinks were 20 dollars each . . . . language barrier sucked as I don't speak french very well . . . .

You're right about once in a lifetime trip.  I don't care about the food.   I could eat a cheese sandwich on the beach and be happy.  Far as the language goes, I don't plan on talking to anybody.  Oh, as for $20 drinks, I plan on dancing for my drinks.        
   I figure about a week there will be enough.  Then again, I just might want to stay and never be seen again.

The cheese sandwich will run you at least 20 bucks . . . or 2000 franks . . .   And at 20 dollar a drink, I wasn't surprise to see all the bars were pretty much empty.  We went to the main land and went shopping at the store for booze.  Certainly saved us a good $1000 as . . . we like to drink.

This is the place were we had the best food . . . if you ever go, need to visit Bloody Mary's!

Thanks for the pictures 4cruzin.       How long was your stay there?  That's the most beautiful blue water a person could ever see.  I'm guessing the average depth is around 6-10 feet deep?      Thanks again for the pics.     Feel free to share some more.
