727 Tranny rotation resistance in neutral--whats normal?

Working on a vibration problem in another thread, I had the driveshaft disconnected from the rear but still in the 727 tranny.  I turned it to get a feel for the front ujoint and check for drag (vibration issue) before taking it out but going forward it was no resistance to turn but going towards reverse it took a much stronger effort to turn.  I can't remember how its supposed to feel but I thought sitting in neutral it should have been the same easy to spin either way.  Any thoughts?

That is totally normal with a torqueflite. Turning one direction causes the L/R clutch drum to lock in the rear sprag and spin more of the rear planetary which creates more drag.
