The Dean of the college has been getting a lot of pressure from the Diesel classes to expand so she has caved in and is making all the project cars move out of the shop and off the school property.

It was fun watching all the people race down the freeway to check out the wing car on the tow truck, got cut off so many times following it I ended up a mile behind the truck.

Had a following all the way to the house. it was a lot of fun. only problem was I did not expect it to come home so early, I just bought a 31 model A 5 window coupe to start working on. I guess that will be moved to the back yard for awhile.

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

Car is back at the college and they are busting their butts to get it in sealer before it goes to the Sacramento Autorama. The students found a way around the school rules to keep the car there so they can work on it in their free time. Should be in primer tonight and sealer by early next week.
It will get blown apart and put back on the rotiserrie when the autorama is over to finish painting the bottom of the car making the belly pan and rear diffuser and strip and paint all the suspension components.

Very nice. Where did you get those hood pin/latches?? :2thumbs:

440 efi, gearvendors OD, Magnum Force front suspension, Unlawful racing rear suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes will try to get the roll cage in next week before car show.

A few more pics. Got it out of the paint booth (primed it last night). Students have most of it blocked out, quiting for the weekend to rest then back on it early Monday so it can go in for sealer Monday night. Will post more pics when it comes back out of the booth in sealer.

Here is a pic of the hole in the hood for the hood catch. it fits between the top metal and bottom metal real nice, had to drill 6 holes on the inside to put the nuts on it.

Still needs a lot of work but had to get it this far for the Autorama at least the nose fits the fenders perfect. We call it Black Betty after the Spiderbait song that was a remake of RamJams original just a lot more hyper. Check out the lug nuts, gives it a mad max vibe.

Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

This is a cool pic of it getting loaded to go to the Autorama. I am sure glad this and my Model A will be the last full restorations I ever do again and I might just leave the model A as it is and drive like the barn find it is.

r4daytona

Very cool project! Does have a neat Mad Max look!  So do you have to pay the school some to work on your project or are you an instructor there?  Just curious how it works

My oldest son is the instructor and he wanted the students to work on some real world projects so he asked if they could use my car. I have to pay for all the materials, paper, primer paint all the usable goods they supply the work and room to store it.  Plus I am giving my Son my 1941 Packard Business coupe for getting it done. I still have 11 other cars to drive.

A few pics from Autorama.
