Having lived in Egypt, I can tell you those Peugeots are very rugged cars. I have no desire to own one, but they can sure take a beating.

My first was a 72 Cortina followed shortly by a Ranchero.  The Ranchero was fun but the Cortina was not much of a car.

  My uncle gave me a 60's Cortina compiled of all the leftover parts from making 1 good car from 2 so so cars. As a young teen I had great fun taking it apart to see how things work. I gave it to a local repair shop for a race car, it was the start of the "car bug" for me.    (It was kinda "my first car" but more like my first victim!)

74 RR, yellow, black stripes, not one quarter panel/fender of the paint matched another and all 4 tires were different brands, had it exactly 7 days when i ran the motor dry of oil, oh i didn't forget to BUY oil, i just left it in the trunk, that oil in the trunk saved me a tow truck ride to the house, but damn it woke everyone up when i pulled into the drivewaywith those rods rattling, not my finest moment and my father wasn't very proud of me at that moment......................  took me A  YEAR TO SAVE UP FOR A NEW JUNK YARD MOTOR, moral isn't to check for oil, moral is to have an emergency fund when you own a car..................

The first one I bought was a 70 Charger. The first one I drove was a 74 AMC Hornet 2 door fastback, 304/3speed manual. Did you know that bailing wire and 5/16" fuel line makes for a pretty decent inside door handle? Not a very good arm rest though.

It looked like this, only it was dark blue, and not as nice:

In 1975, I bought my 1974 Charger SE Brougham for $3850.  Triple black.  Originally ordered by the sales manager at Spartan Dodge, it was a 400 4bbl; clock instead of tach; auto tranny w/ shift on the column, not on the console; electric windows; air conditioner; hood pins; chrome luggage rack; and those 15" chrome wheels/beauty rings.  I loved those chrome tips on the exhaust!

It was big and comfortable and fast.  Wasn't real fast off the line, but it would cruise all day at 90.

Put over 100k miles on that beauty and sold her in 1980 for $1000.  If I can find a pic, I'll post it.

A Chevy Corvair, not sure of the year, my Dad gave it to me, I was in 8th grade. Never got it running. First roadable car was a yellow 68 Dart, with a /6. A real chick magnet

Loved it, a lot of great memories.  Me and my girlfriend went on our first roadtrip after I graduated.  Good times!!  Owned it all of 6 months and the tranny started slipping...

76 Monte Carlo with the 305 and a 2 barrel carb.  This was the first year for the 305.  Dad bought it new, then I ended up with it at 16 and drove it all through high school.  It is red with white vinyl seats/door panels and a black dash.  I parked it when I started college and got an 89 Cavalier for better mileage.  I still have the Monte, it is out in the field sittin to this day.  If I remember correctly the last time I drove it the cam was getting worn because it started backfiring pretty bad.  It hasn't been ran in probably 12 years or so.
