Willys Jeepster for me, 1950, 4cyl, 3sp w overdrive. Took it to the jet wash and 1/3 of the old yellow paint came off! I took it to the horse trails around here and out on the beach constantly, beat the beans out of it. Lot's of fun till it broke, then sold to be restored.  :yesnod:

The first car I drove regularly was a car that my parents didn't use, a 1972 Datsun 510 Station Wagon. They had major engine trouble one time that was supposed to have been a head gasket, but it never ran right after it was fixed. Knowing what I know now, I think my Mom overheated it & drove it that way damaging other things. I drove this thing, when it ran, back & forth to high school the last two months before I graduated.

It looked almost exactly like this one, including the color. I put a stereo in it that was probably worth three times the value of the car & it was only $100 unit.

The first car I bought for myself was a near mint, 47,000 mile, 1969 Cadillac Hearse. Bought that the summer I graduated for $900 right from the Hasbrouck Heights Funeral Home in NJ. It got about 9 MPG highway, so I was always broke.

First car I ever owned was a 51 Ford Tudor, but that was a couple years before I had my license. The first vehicle I had that I could legally drive on the road was this 67 Ford Ranger that my Dad bought new in 67. This was probably taken in 73.

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

69 pontiac lemans painted F8 green (yep the dodge color).

It was originally a fawn gold with a vinyl top that my grandmother bought.  I bought it from them and we took it to my dad's cousins to restore it when I was 15.  First thing I did was to blow all the spark plug wires off with a power washer.  I loved that car.  It had a 2bbl 350 and was nice to drive.  I sold it when I finished high school and when my dad told me he would sell me his f8 Charger.  That one is presently being restored by someone else and it is hard to wait for it.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....
