Here in CT there is a cruise night every Monday night throughout the summer which usually brings in 800+ cars being shown.  Costs nothing on a huge farm property, and they sell some burgers and treats to help pay for up keep.
My wife and I try to attend a few  times each summer and hope by next summer we will be driving our charger there for show.
So as we arrived there was a very nice 69 R/T in the entrance but off to the side recovering from
An electrical fire!   :'(
They were lucky they pulled over and the damage was mostly wires along the firewall and brake booster area...  :-\
I was going to take pictures, but felt to badly to do so in front of the owner who was trying to clean up the fire extinguisher spray.... :icon_smile_dissapprove:
The car is a beautiful olive green R/T and hopefully there isnt much damage and they can rebuild.
The rest of the show was great with 2-3 68's and a lot of cuda's and challengers with a mix of 383 and 440's!   Can't wait to bring our 70 there next year!
If the owner is on here, I am sorry to see the damage, but beautiful car!  Hope all is okay!

That's really considerate.  Not many would consider the possibility the owners might not want to be caught on film at that particular moment.

Actually it is very considerate.  We live in a world where everyone's misfortune no matter how trivial or major brings out a herd of people holding up their cellphones for pics and no offers to help.

Exactly!   I didn't want to be "that guy" standing with my phone snapping away.
I really hope to see him next month and report a positive outcome here!
I didn't mention but the car show is connected to a salvage yard and the guys quickly stepped in to help!  I'm sure they pushed it inside for the night or offered to help tow him home....

Any specific product made by Deoxit?  I just googled it and there are at least half a dozen or more versions......

Just looked at their website ( www.caig.com ) and I see they do make several versions of Deoxit. After reading the info there I think the Deoxit "D Series" would be the one to use on our cars, however on radioshack.com I could only find a twin pack of Deoxit "power booster" and "gold".   :shruggy:  Perhaps a member who has some would post the name/number on the can.

This is what I have!

Thanks for posting the pic! Now I have better idea what to look for.  :2thumbs:

I usually go 2-3 times a year to Marks, awesome cruise here in CT.I have seen that Charger a few times, real nice car,sad to hear.
One time I was there,I was car # 964,and that night it topped out at just about 1,200 cars !!!!Have'nt made it there this year yet.
P.S,guys from Ct,don't forget about the Mopar show at Vernon Golf land this Sunday 9-3.Ususally turns out 150-200+ Mopars.

After treating with my salt and vinegar cleaning (Instructions in my thread.) to remove oxidation I use Caig D-100 DeOxIt, it comes in a small bottle with a pin point tube for exact application. The next time I recheck everything I plan on applying Caig Gold as it is more of a protector than cleaner. I also bought a laser pointed temperature detector for general use and plan on checking areas like the bulkhead connector now and then to monitor heat buildup.  :scratchchin:
It stinks to hear he had an avoidable problem.  :rotz: b5
