115° today. Broke another record. I spent the day wiring a control panel out in the sun. Gave up about 1:30 this afternoon. Go back to it in the morning. 118° was the hottest I have worked in, that was the year before last. My swimming pool is just over 95° right now. No point in even getting in. Just hot and wetter!

Well, being from Oregon I haven't really experienced hot temps at home but we took a trip to Nevada/Utah/Arizona in August last year and the hottest I remember was 111 in Washington, Utah. I'm sure it was at least that high in Vegas when we landed but we scooted out of there asap. When we finished our loop through Zion, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon and Seligman, AZ we stopped at Hoover Dam on the way back to Vegas and it felt like we were walking on the surface of the sun. It had to be 115 there but we didn't stick around long enough to find out. That night in Vegas it was 105 at 10 pm. We stopped to watch the volcano show at The Mirage hotel and an employee there told us the temp jumped 20-degrees every time they lit off those flame throwers so for a few seconds at a time we were experiencing 125-degree heat. :eek2: That sucked.

We used to go jump in the pool at midnight because it would still be 100 degrees out.
That trip you took through Zion is beautiful Curtis.  Right now it's finally down to 91 degrees at 10:37pm.

Bryce Canyon was amazing. Zion and the Grand Canyon were awesome too but IMO Bryce was better than both of them combined.

This summer was pretty bad.  Triple digit tempuratures, with 80% + humidity, down in a big hole in the ground with no shade, and no moving air.  Good times.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.
