Lots of us have put 440s in our Chargers but i think my linkage is too short due the height of the blocks being 3/4 of an inch different. Does anyone have a true 440 linkage in their car that they could measure I got a 68 charger with a 727 and a 440 and need a measurement of the 3 adjustable rods that go from the carb to the tranny on an original 440 linkage thanks

no its an edelbrock intake and carb but there isnt much difference there i took the tired 383 out and put in a rebuilt 440 and the height difference i think is enough not to make it kick down because on a small block like a 318 there is just one long rod and a 383 there is a 13 to 14 inch rod and a 440 i think the rod is 14.5 to 15.5 inches long i was wondering if anyone had a stock linkage setup to measure it and see what the heck i got going here

I thought the 440 and 383 take the same linkage in a stock configuration.  John Kunkel will know for sure.  Don't be surprised if its your intake that threw it off.  Which intake is it?  If its a Performer RPM that will be it for sure.

The intake is a edelbrock Proformer 440
