I am going to try this as a new topic as I think that stuff gets lost in the sticky threads at the top. If this is bad then I apologize.

I have a 69 RT, auto with AC, OEM intake and 4640sa carb.

Of the 3 Edelbrock Heat Insulator Gaskets (9265/9266/9267) that I see at Summit I wonder which is more appropriate for a stock 69 iron intake?
I see that the 9267 is for the dual quads but I figured if it was the most appropriate I could just use one or both under carb?  shruggy

I recall reading in the myriad of thread hits I got in searches that getting a 4 hole gasket (67) would give faster throttle response (and more manifold vacuum?) and the open center (65) would help on top end?  Do I have that correct as I can't seem to find that thread again.  brickwall

There should be a pic in the FSM of the correct one to match.  :scratchchin:

    NOOOOOO Not the FSM!!!!!!!!

Sorry, Have another thread where I am trying to figure out the parts catalog.   :brickwall:

I don't see it in the parts catalog illustrations section and they don't specifically show an image of the gasket in the Exhaust System & Intake Manifold or the Fuel System sections.  However, in the Fuel System section for the AVS carbs they do show what appears to be the bottom of the carb on page 14-39 which appears to be match the 9266 gasket. Ill have to find a 4640sa on ebay and see if they show a bottom pic or I will have to pull mine before I order the parts I guess.

Any opinion on the throttle response comments?

 My FSM is so worn I keep it in a plastic tub, in bits and pieces. A friend was watching me use it and commented I looked like a preacher digging into a 500 year old bible in search of the truth. I told him this IS my cars "bible".  :2thumbs:
I can't pretend to have an opinion on the virtue any of the choices may have. (?)
