We've all had them...... Today just pissed me off.  After 3 weeks I finally had a few hours to work on my Charger and at the end of my two hours (before a party) I got ZERO accomplished.   The project was to change out my wheel studs on my Strange Dana 60, and they are freak'in STUCK.  Tried PB Blaster, heating them up, NOTHING.   So with the hopes of getting the car back on the ground tonight were shattered.  CRAP!

Just had to vent a little.  Sometimes I just feel like selling them all.... :brickwall: :brickwall:  Seems like nothing EVERY goes as planned!

Hang in there, I have had many of those days.   Just let it go and retry another day.    Its normal.

Are they welded in?  I say that because I found out about a week or so ago that someone welded ALL of the studs onto the axles.  Who the f**k does that?  Yeah, frustrations abound when working on these cars sometimes...

My Dana 60 (Strange) has the screw in type.  Since strange screwed up when I purchased the set up I may just bring the axles to them and let them change them hopefully for n/c.

I've seen this more than one time. Of course, there's the ever popular "I ordered new lug studs from the parts shack down the street, they said they are for my car (Metric, NOT standard), but they don't fit tight and stripped out the knurls when tightened up"...
" I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours researching what works and what doesn't and I'm willing to share"

I've seen it before too, what is with some people?  They really just want the quick fix sometimes without a care to having to access whatever part they are messing with again. :brickwall:

I was in the same boat, posted a thread on how to loosen header bolts on here, that was 4 weeks ago...

I finally got it done last night.  Partly because it didn't want to budge and partly because of the limited time I have.

I go into every job with the thought that something will go wrong.  It keeps the disappointment at bay.

The next big job is a total brake overhaul and upgrade.  I expect the car to be off the roads for a year or two...
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I hear you.  It happens to all of us.

Yesterday I had some time again, but I decided to take my 4 year old to a car show.  I asked him if I should work on the "black car" or should we go to a car show.  He said "CAR SHOW".  We were their with some friends for 5 hours and he was a champ!

I'll hit the F'ing bolts when I can...

heat helps ,
I have had numerous experiences with threaded studs , you want to know who weld the studs in place .... I do !
I have worked on Race cars for years most have thread in studs , bad design I have seen so many near misses , the lug get tight , damaged threads or whatever & as you tighten the lug the stud turns out of the flange , I have seen brake cylinders 1/2 worn through , , stud snapped off , often the car will not roll so you drive it & the head of the stud shears off lamming in the brakes , pops of the brake springs or other damage / brake failures .

It's not always the cars that do it to you. 2 weeks ago I started working on rebuilding the carb. Now the brakes are torn apart (feature creep) oh and it's still not done because I screwed up my knee 2 weeks ago and could barely walk for a week. FUN.

I try but I have to honest and say  I have caught myself working at home or staying late a bunch of times though and wondered why.  Its too easy to take your family for granted.
