Finally got her up and running! Going to drive her for awhile and come winter, I'll be handing it over for body work and paint.

Oh man my little boy loves it. He's 1 1/2 and recently discovered hot wheels and car sounds. So we back it out of the garage to the end of the driveway, then pull back up again. Repeat the process a couple o' hundred times. I let him steer...sort of. He always points at the gas pedal and says "more? more? more?"  Guess he approves of the sound!

For some reason the shop that did the rebuild on the tranny could never get it into 3rd gear. I guess the tranny was out of a '72. So after 2 rebuilds, two torque converters, and 3 valve bodies, the owner decided to swap in a rebuilt '69 torqueflight that went with a roadrunner. He decided to make his roadrunner a 6-speed so this tranny sat rebuilt with $1200 in performance parts for 3 years. They swapped it in at no charge. I have to say the guys really stuck by their work. They had the car for awhile but wanted to make sure it was right.

I was worried I wasn't going to be Moparing during the summer. I bought it last October and this week is the first time I've been able to drive it. I will say its like being a celebrity driving around town. Just the 2 mile drive from the shop to my house, I got 4 thumbs up and two people pulling up next to me to ask about what all was in it. How often do you guys get people yelling at you to "light it up" ? I've had that request twice already this week. :)

Having the car down sucks, don't it?  Enjoy it while you can!

I don't quite understand the transmission problem. That 72 transmission should have work perfectly.
Nice car though.

I didn't understand it either. The shop that did the build pulled it apart and rebuilt it twice. Upon installation, they could never get it to go into 3rd.

by the looks of the oxidation pattern on the roof it looks like it could have had a confederate flag on the roof, and the vectors even support this lol
