Confused by trans harness routing

Im finishing up connecting stuff, but my trans harness is a bit confusing. All the info i have seen on here and the internet shows the harness coming down over the top of the trans from an odd looking plug.

Ive got a year one engine harness and on this the trans harness "pops" out of the main battery cable run down to the starter and, going by its length, seems to have no alternative route other than a similar one to the speedo cable.

Of course, there is nothing to attach it to the floor though.

So my question is, is my harness for an earlier car? Or is it just plain wrong. I thought the YO harnesses were supposed to be quite good?

Any ideas  :shruggy:

It drops down to a bellhousing bolt clip and then down the trans.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

John, yes, thats the pic ive seen and what i though should be fitted. But the YO harness is nothing like that! It doesn't have the plug near the bulkhead connector either.

I know someone with a 68 and its like mine, not as the drawing. Which makes me wonder if its for the earlier cars.

The single stud '68 and earlier NSS uses a single brown wire with a spade connector at the top and a ring terminal at the bottom...same routing through two clips as in the pic above.

If your NSS wire emerges from the main battery cable it isn't correct. Are you sure that wire id for the trans? What color is it?

New one on me, but my only Hemi was a 4-speed. With the manifold heat tubes in the area where the wire is usually routed it makes sense to reroute it.
