...Nugent, that is. Man, he ain't what he used to be, but the show was ok. My son had a great time. It was his first concert. The theater was very small, maybe slightly bigger than the old style movie theaters. There were 1000 people max. That's got to be tough for him after playing to huge crowds in the 70's and 80's. But hey, he's enjoying himself.

The only thing I didn't like was the almost constant political commentary. Of course, you have to expect it with him, but it was excessive. It was more like a political rally with some occasional music.

But I have to say, he also gives equal kudos to the armed forces, so that's good.  :2thumbs:

Ted runs through here about every year and a half.  I should go see him.  I always liked him with Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw.

Even though Ted and I are roughly the same politically, I am not a fan of going to a concert and hearing their political rants. This is why I am not running out to see Bon Jovi.  Of course the comments are easier to deal with when you agree.

Saw him a couple weeks ago with REO and Styx.

He toned down the political stuff quite a bit.

I was shocked to see Derek St. Holmes out on stage with him. An awesome surprise.

He's 63 and as he told us all that night, he owes it to "No booze, no drugs, and no fat pussy".   :smilielol:

Saw him at rock-fest last year and he finished a song and he says something like, "Wow! How bad-ass was that song?!  The only man who could follow up after that is................Ted Nugent"  :musik010:

Kind of what I was thinking, well that, and the fact that much of the crowd was over 60 and it probably went past their bed time
Definitely went past mine!  :smilielol:

I felt really old  :eek2: It was a shock to see all us old guys in the audience of a rockin' show. I'm guessing that eventually he'll be doing the nursing home circuit...

I don't think the younger generation even knows who Ted Nugent is.

They think he's Conservative or a right wing, gun totting NRA activist, probably now, he was a great rocker in his time, probably still is, I haven't seen him for many years now, I always like Ted Nugent, he's a great guy, as long as you don't try to take his gun rights away or not let him go hunting, He has a show on Outdoor Network I don't remember what nights, I watch from time to time, he's been on Stacey Davids "Gears" & the old "Trucks" shows too, with his old Zebra striped Bronco & his guitar... Ted is cool, no doubt. If he ran for the big seat tomorrow (yeah, sure), he'd have my vote. :2thumbs:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I like Ted's music. I have been signing all of my credit card receipts "Ted Nugent" for about 10 years. The local pizza delivery place calls me Mr. Noooogent, or like last time, Mr. Nugget. So you could say I like Ted. And I do.

However. When I see a concert, as I often do, I want to be entertained and not preached to. If there is a message IN your song, fine. But I don't want mad speeches railing against this and that ruining my music buzz. So, Ted: Shut your trap and play guitar and maybe I'll come see you when you come through town next time.

It isn't that simple.  Protecting some rights equals stomping on others.
