1968 Head Rest Option Question

when did head rest become available on 68s? Did they come with any particular option group? I have seen a few cars with them but I don't see anything different in the fender tag that calls them out.

I don't know the fender tag numbers very well, but you could get head rests from the first 68 charger off the line.
I have had OCT, NOV and have a DEC built 68 with head rests, with basically no other options except a 440 mag RT.

As you probably already know, headrests became mandatory Jan 1, 1969.  Before that they were optional.

In 69 there is no code for headrests on the fendertag, only on the broadcast sheet.
The same should apply for 68 as well.
