What have you lost while driving?

I had the Charger (69) out yesterday for a quick ride and for the first time I lost something off my car while driving it.  :'( I lost the right side tail light chrome trim piece. It must have vibrated loose. I lost it about a mile down the road. I didn't notice until tonight and went out and tried to find it. Well, I did find it, but it was in about 20 pieces. Somebody must have run it over. Has this happened to anyone else? What can I use to secure both of these chrome trim pieces? Luckily, I do have a spare.

Who else has lost stuff off their Charger while driving it?

Ghoste

A center cap from a Magnum style road wheel.

c00nhunterjoe

Upper front windshield trim and the right hood turn signal indicator.

But the biggest problem is I'm always losing the smoke out of the rear tires.  :D

Clear silicone holds them on nicely....

I lost my brand new SS drivers side exhaust tip on a test run after my new exhaust install.....heard it fly off & was able to retrieve it....nicks & gashes & all.... tightened it back up & called it good....never replaced it...kept it to show some battle scars! ;)

I did lose something, but it was while I was parked. . . . and in one of my old Irocs.  :D

lug nut snapped off on the way to the mechanic for another thing in 1985.  It broke the windshield of the car behind me which I found out when they pulled in right after me.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I lost an exhaust tip once, too. Tailpipe was rotted, my buddy behind me said first the pipe snapped downward, then broke completely. I retrieved it, but somehow the tip was undamaged.

Lost a few lug nuts once on some old Cragar SS unilugs I had, wheel studs snapped. Scary sh*t.
Also had a '77 Charger that HATED to wear hubcaps, those things were always flying off.

I've lost small tools that were under the hood.
I've lost a wheel once in a Camaro.
I've lost several hundred dollars due to traffic violations, but THAT was long ago.

Had 2 r/f wheel studs break off on my 71 Valiant Pacer, one bounced up and bashed the rocker panel and everything got squirrely just as I pulled over

I had a 73 cutlass in the 80's that was rotted out. I was on my way to my friend's house and the gas tank fell out

I've lost the front upper windshield trim corner piece.
I've lost a plastic chair out the back of my pickup.
I've also lost a beer can that a buddy put on my CB antenna which I think it hit a new Corvette behind me on the freeway.

Took the mauve '66 Charger out for a long drive all the way around town one night. Got back home and parked it outside in front of the unlit barn and went in and went to bed.

Next morning I noticed the pot metal center grille section with the medallion was gone. It was broken when I bought it and the previous owner had used bailing wire to hold it in place.

Went and retraced my route and didn't find it.

On another '66 Charger, I lost one of the lower stainless windshield moldings shortly after getting the car because it wasn't attached very well. Going down the freeway at 75 mph and poof! It flew right off. Didn't find that either.
