In a nicer term, he meant there is more to car then a 20 feet paint job.

These cars are prone to rust damage in many spots, depending on where it spent it's life.

Just because it's in Arizona means nothing, I suspect these cars are auctions queens made in the same place by the same guy.

They are not worth the price imho.

Where is the pic of the trunk on both cars?  They look to similar to be a chance meet on ebag.

I dunno, I think I would pass.  Unless you can see the car in person I just don't like the whole e-bay thing.

That I understand.....

You have to admit though a car is 40 plus years old so you would expect something, but vs price is the hard one to guage.

I would narrow down my search by deciding exactly which year and model you really want.  While the two are both second generation Chargers, each offers something different.   Many of us like the grille and or taillights on one year better than the other.  Do you favor one style over the other?  If not, then I would be looking at what options each have and what mod's (if any) have been done to each.    Just my two cents.....bottom-line, it's your two cents that really matters since you will be the one having to live with the decision.     :Twocents:

So basically the situation is a follows. I'm running out of time with my dad. His last surgery took a lot out of him, and I think I'm on borrowed time. His diagnosis didn't leave much for the imagination as it was, and for him to still be here is a miracle in and of itself. Which model do I want....don't truly care. I PERSONALLY like the 68. HE HAD a 69. That's where I'm at. I'm searching for one that he can drive. I don't want a rust bucket, because I don't see myself in the future having 10k to fix it. I know it can't be perfect, and I know I have to at some point take what I can get. I need a driver. Something he can enjoy while he still can. It doens't have to be a numbers matching, fender tag included, with a build sheet. He wouldn't know the difference. It's a matter of giving him the car he had to bring back memories when times were a little better then they are now. I came here becuase I wanted your guys opinions becuase I know you all know WAY more then me. And I'm learning, but the curve is slow becuase of all the OTHER things I do on a regular basis. I appreciate all the help you've all been able to give good or bad. You've saved me on a bunch of "polished turds" as Mytur Binsdirti put it . And I do appreciate that. I know if Im patient that I'll be able to find a good one, but patience, and time are not something that I have a lot of at this point. So my search will continue, and I'll do the best that I can not to bug you all a ton....but now and then I'll pry post something and get a few opinions, and go from there! So to all for helping, and giving opinions thanks, and hey, if ya know of one for sale that is a good ride...68 or 69....let me know. I've gathered a couple more dollars, and could push to 24k for the right car! Thanks again guys (and gals)

Im with the rest on skipping those cars.

This looks like board member viper r/t selling another car...  In the past he has listed them here first. Sold several here and I don't recall anyone posting anything negative?

I'd forget trying to buy one at this point.

Why not take your dad to the Mopar nationals next weekend...

Meet up with that crazy bunch from DodgeCharger.com...

Ask them to take you and your dad out cruising every night, in all different kinds of Chargers, and maybe a 'Cuda or a Roadrunner or Challenger, etc.

Your dad will have a blast, memories will be made...

And you ain't out $25K on some bondo wagon...

It sounds like you want a drivable-but-rusty '69 right now, and a more solid long term project '68 later.  I think you should split up the two cars.  Buy the one for your dad now and swap it for the one you want later on.

Just be careful and don't get too attached to the rusty '69 you cruise with him now, and end up trying to restore it long after he's gone.  It won't be his original '69 and it won't be what is best for you either, keep that straight in your mind.  It's just best for right now.

you have to remember alot of these board members are picking as hell when it comes to buying a car, but heres the kicker they are not picky as hell when they sell their car to a fellow member. In the end get a car you want that you truely want and if the cash is right for you vs how it looks then get it becasue board members will always pursaude you NOT to buy one and call it a 'polish turd' on all of theme except for their own cars.

Had way too many board members PM me their car and tell me YES it has rust and YES it has holes and YES guages DONT work at all among other things and then say, '20k' for their price. Then I post a car where its opposite of their cars and they tell me' polish turd' when it was a better car than their own. Alot of board members will tell you to buy their car for a premium, but dont buy other peoples cars at all.....Even when its a good deal they will say NOT to buy it, but then you find out 3 months later they bought the car that you shared on the forum when they said NOT to buy it  ::)

so get a car that you want with a fair price you are willing to pay. BakerPhillip is a honest seller/buyer on here you could PM alot of info he will share with you.
