Those late 90's Geo Metros are kind of cute, and they get equal or BETTER gas mileage than those fancy, expensive hybrids everyone's having orgasms over...

A generic-type Mopar in the 66-74 range is what I hope to be buying next time around.

Ford Crown Victoria CVPI   /thread

:2thumbs:  :2thumbs:  :2thumbs:  :2thumbs:   Had a 2003 that I really liked, I just liked my other cars better so I sold it. Very dependable, handles like a sports car and almost bullet proof.

Yup, and they couldn't get out of their own way if their lives depended on it but hey-Metro on weekdays, Charger on weekends...

For a beater with high mpg, you cant beat a used 90s toyota.

I still would like a Mini Cooper, but with my back issues, it will probably never happen. They ride kinda hard

I'm in love with my 07 charger rt. The 5.7 models have the multiple displacement system in them. On a cruise it shuts down 4 cylinders. Other then the exhaust going from "american muscle" to "rice rocket" you can't tell.  The car runs 13's, handles like its on rails, gets 20 mpg in the city, and 29 on the highway...... I've been so close to 30, but can't quite break it.
Its also extremely comfortable. Th seats hug you, and they areheated....... so nice in the winter. The stereo is incredible, its really a badass, all around performer.

For all of you that hate them because its "not a charger", I get it, I was there with you when these things 1st came out. Trust me, go drive one.............

I got an 87 Civic last year for $850, get twice the fuel mileage as my pickup; saved my self $850 in one year!  And nothing broke down!!  Knock on my wood.  It's a 4 door, 5 speed; just averaged 39 mpg on my last tank!  Usually get 35.

I had asked a mechanic about getting a diesel.  I couldn't help wondering if they are so good on fuel why isn't everyone driving one?

The answer I got was, that when the car breaks down the cost of repairing it more then makes up for the fuel savings.
