Maybe a silly question, but my 69 has better takeoff and runs better in the evening.  during daylight hours when the temp is warmer take off is if i hit the gas from a stop it loads up spits and sputters until it gets up to speed.  seems to run ok then, but not as good as it goes with cooler temps.  its a 69 440 hp hp manifolds , performer intake, edelbrock 750 carb and comp cam.  forget which one at the moment , was advertised as largest with stock converter. my converter is the saturday night special and runnin 355 gears.  love driving it but its a nuisance over 70 degrees.  any suggestions?

engines run better in the cold. colder air is thinner than warmer air. i bet if you look at your plugs their pretty dark from being too rich thats why its sputtering and crapping out on you till you get up to speed.

Actually colder air is denser than warmer air, but I'm sure you knew that  :icon_smile_big:

Cooter

Cooler air seems to be covering up a Carb Enrichment circuit problem off idle. Need to fatten up the enrichment circuit...Try tuning a bit on that eddy carb.
