The one in New Hampshire... isn't.  It's in Lowell Mass. north west of Boston on 495.  Though it's only 5 or so miles into MA.

Being that it's in Lowell, MA, watch out, it's probably stolen.

Here is the sad truth about your position with that car. If it is truly the good deal that it looks to be chances are it's going to be long gone before you can even get the guy on the phone.  :Twocents:  Rule of thumb, local guys get the deals.  I looked for 2 yrs and I lost count of the number of cars that looked so good you could almost see the scam wafting out of the monitor. When I finally reached someone it was long gone or someone was on their way tomorrow in the AM to see it. In which case they stopped answering the phone the next day.

I didn't get a break until one popped up in CT and a hurricane immobilized the east coast so I could get there first.

What I think is rather humorous is that all the while I was looking lots of seemingly good cars were popping up in Denver, FT Collins, etc. All the while I am in NH. Here you are looking and nothing is showing up out there.   :shruggy:

For Sale ads will start to show up in droves at the end of the season again (Sept) when folks are forced to re evaluate their situation because another 6 months of storage fees are about to come due or they just don't feel like storing it again when they didn't get that much out of it over the summer.

hmmm....interesting what do you think about the Jan. Feb time frame do people like to sell during that time also? Prices go down also?

bakerhillpins

I am by no means an expert on this, it's all what I experienced when I was looking so take that into account.

Dec (even Nov) through Feb were dry, few listings and that which did show up was either a super project or was big dollar stuff that was still sitting from the summer.  It didn't pick up until late Feb or early march.  Because there isn't much on the market I didn't really see a "listed" price change. Overall, I don't know that "listed" prices went down all that much in the fall either, but I suspect that the owners were far more negotiable far earlier on in the process since they felt that their buyer pool was about to dry up and they would then have storage fees. Spring prices were for obvious reasons less negotiable up front and seemed to adjust to reality by summer.

I was the first person to see my car (as far as I know) and was able to negotiate and leave with it (figuratively speaking, I picked it up a week later). It was purchased early Sept.

YMMV

That sucks. I needed something yesterday. I know that's not the best way to shop for one of these particular types of cars, but I need it so my dad can enjoy it now. Finding one over the winter, and having it in the shed in Nebraska isn't going to be the kind of enjoyment I was hoping for. Guess that just means the search goes on, shifts to high gear, and continues! (continues to drive everyone around me nuts that is! :yesnod:)

DodgeChargerNeeded

The prices won't really go up or down that much in the off season the number of cars for sale will go down because once put away for the winter they just kinda forget about it till spring. So the best time to buy is early spring or fall but the prices probably won't be affected just my 2 cents

my assumptions for feb timeframe is because people have spent alot of the holiday money and overspent and now need cash to pay the debts back so they figure they can sell a car or so. Ill just stick with my budget and needs and go from there I guess.
