Not to be pushy but any ideas on the annual DC.com Charger meet?

I was just thinking about the DC.com meet, formerly known as the D-C.com meet. :icon_smile_big: Is it too early to start talking about this? I know Mark (triple green) has organized it in the past, to which we are eternally grateful, so I just wondered if that is going to be the MO this year too? I didn't get to go last summer so I'm planning on eating twice as much, meeting twice as many people and taking twice as many pictures this summer. So shoot me, I'm really looking forward to it. :yesnod:

I was just thinking about this the last week  or so. I would be happy to let someone else do it.  :yesnod: We can also plan an alternate site if you want. The church is easy for me and we have all of the ammenities available. I do remember the wedding conflict though, so it is not perfect.

We need to plan a date soon. Last year I waited too long and we ended up with lot of people not being able to come.

Also it has worked out "weatherwise" better to have it in late July or August. Another option is to have it on the Saturday before the Sunbust show in Graham. That way people coming from farther a way can get a "two-fer" weekend.

I am open to any and all suggestions.

If it's closer this year I will come. Maybe somewhere in the central US. Maybe I can talk onne of you guys into buying a pool part. That way I make it deductible. :icon_smile_big:

moparmadness has a resto shop in KY. I have no idea what kinda parking he has but it is  a central location, or combine it with Monster mopar in September in IL.  That way I would not have to travel at all :icon_smile_big:

Might need to organize more than one meet . As the one previuosly mentioned has been in WA state since the previous boards inception.

How bout the Saturday before the Seattle Chapter mopars unlimited show? May 6th.
That way we all get a two fer and it's in closer proximity to each show.
Plus you all get another bonus. The Seattle chapter mopar unlimited club are having a cruise in dinner Saturday night at the XXX. So we'd all actually get a three fer if we did it that weekend.

I'm going to be in Issaqua all weekend to attend The Seattle chapter stuff and would have no problem doing a charger.com show the day before.

Another cool fact is that the Seattle chapter show is going to be specifically honoring the Charger this year and will have a specific area for all us charger owners to hang out together.

Whats ya all say? Can you get the church May 6th Mark?

We gave up on May because the weather is too unpredictable.

I will still do it if we all are in for that time period.

Not that some of you Seattle guys care...I don't want to drive round trip in the rain again.  The Round Up gig sounds great and all but unless you have a trailer, who wants to drive in the rain.  I've done my share of it as well.  After last time, I said never again. :-\  Every year since it went to Remlinger, it's rained.
I ended up coming that one year by myself because all the Portland boyz wussed out due to it.  If you want a turnout and not a Seattle car show only, sandwich it with a summer show.

Regardless, I have goodies for you Mark.  I mentioned trailer, shouldn't be long now before Paul says something. :moon:

strat, you said something about wanting to move to Vancouver.  Fly up and you can ride with me, we live less than 10 minutes from the airport in Vancouver.  You're sleeping in your own room tho, that is unless you want to bunk up with me. :-* :icon_smile_big:

just offering another option. I know I will be attending the Seattle mopars unlimited show...regardless.
We should think about putting a poll together to see what the best options may be and decide from that.
Anyone?

I'm sorry, I was talking about the NW meet. It seems we get into this every year. The original Charger meets that originated from the last website were in Washington because many of the members here lived in the Seattle area and Jesse came in from Spokane. Other guys were feeling left out (which is understandable) and some of them put together their own get-togethers. I think that is the way to go from now on because it's near impossible to get everyone together on one side of the country or the other, not to mention the members from other countries. Some of the big meets draw people from everywhere, like Wayne Wooten's Charger show, but our little show in Kent does not have that draw... yet. I would like to think it would someday because it seems like all the big ones are east of the Mississippi or California. I say we keep the one in Kent going and some other members in other regions do their own Charger shows too. I'm not trying to be exclusive, just practical.

I am with Mike... lets have a get together during the summer sometime. The BCC Mopar meet here in
Seattle is on May 7th, and there allready is a get together planed for the 6th at the XXX. So that weekend
is kind of full plus we are still getting the show setup at BCC.

We could have the charger show the day before the Sunbust Mopar Meet. Did we try that last year??

I know several people that would like to stay the next day for the Sunbust in the summer, great show.

I will make it to whatever you guys won't to do, I have come every year  ;D ;D

Dave, YES, I used to stop in Woodstock to gas up the truck on my NY/NC trips! Got stuck in a Wendy's with 36 busloads of high school kids one afternoon. I guess they all stop there after touring the endless caverns or after ball games or something. Damn truck threw a belt the next exit down, too(different trip). Luckily found a shop that would work on it after dark and not for a lot of $$$ either. Nice folks down there. Living in central NC now, but a Woodstock Charger meet sounds good.

hey Seattle guys, please keep us posted on the charger show. would love to go. not to far from port Angeles, WA wont be showing the car but would like to meet some of the members and check out the rides.

Would it be an advantage for you OR and BC guys to have it on the Sat before Graham Sunbust? Or is it a "don't really care"?

ya know, I dont want to say this because I am 70 miles away from the place, but why do we not make the charger fever meet the official dodgecharger.com meet?  Kansas is a central location, the city has plenty of hotel space, its right off of a major interstate, and a major local car show is already established there?  I know some dont want to drive long distance, but this would be a helluvalot better than driving all the way to ohio or pa for the nats or carlisle.

just a thought.

I don't know....I honestly believe that the seperate shows for east coast, west coast, maybe even central is the only fair way to to deal with it with gas prices these days. From that point it should be a matter of percentages. (more members in that area should control what state the show is in.

Just my thoughts

I know there is no way I'm driving my classic car across the country for a car show unless theres a very damn good reason to do it (Like Daytona 500  :icon_smile_big:)

Headrope

Is Tacoma Dodge putting on a show again this year? Combine the two, if so - you know, this being the birthday of the Charger and all.

My second vote would be to join forces with Sunbust. The fairgrounds in Graham are beautiful, and as close to the "country" as one can get anymore. It's also a great starting point for a cruise through whats-left-of-rural-Pierce county.
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

I agree that Graham is beautiful, but there show alone packs that place, they would not let us
join the crowd, its been on the over-Flo for yeas, besides I spend all my time in the swap meet
area and miss the show  ;D

Kent in August was great weather, I will go again for sure.     If it is another time or place around Washington I will go.   Never been to Kentucky, would love to see that part of the country, but don't know if I could make it that far.   Thanks for organizing the show last summer Mark.

Kent would be good.  May would be wet.  Doing it the same weekend as another event would leave those with the energy and time for two days of mopar festivities with a choice.  Bob

If I can find a trailer, it won't matter.  Problem is all my friends need that same trailer if there's a chance of rain.  Sunbust is my favorite show in the NW.  I wouldn't mind coming up on a Friday night and spending the weekend in Seattle...

Just my $0.02, but the Triple X in Issaquah is always asking me when I am going to have a mopar show there.  They have arranged to have a car show on June 25th where they are closing the main drag through Issaquah.  It would be an all makes show, but we could have a Charger only show on Saturday at the Resturant, I can talk to the owner if you are interested.  I don't want to step on any toes, or make waves, I do enough of that in the Bellevue Show.

Just curious but do you guys have something against the 69's? I see a lot of 68's in that picture and a 70.

I think the only way to do a board meet, is to have more than one show. One for the west coast, one for the midwest, and one for the east coast.

any midwest people, I think there is gonna be a big show in chicago around the end of august at route 66 dragstrip. Might be a good central meeting place.

The cheese grater boyz didn't want to cruise with us I guess.  :shruggy:

Same arguement every year considering location.  The original board had a NW flavor to it so we planned a get together.  Nothing against other parts of the country, if I remember correctly every year a few members get something going for their areas just like Mark does up here.  It's just that we had Jesse show up at ours.  That's not something to be promoting anymore.  ;)

As long as Mark takes the time out of his schedule and does this for us, I'll be up there every year.  If people don't like the fact we have one up here every year, plan your own in your area.  Make it a yearly event like ours.   There's no reason to change what Mark has successfully been doing.  The more meets there are, the more pix we get to look at.

69 500, with your following you should be able to organize a good size one.  Then us NW'er's can snivel about how it should be in our neck of the woods.  ;D

I posted the pictures of the show before, I posted pictures of the cruise we had this time, not my fault that
there was no 69's that wanted to go on the cruise.

There was only one 69 at the show as well, don't know why  :shruggy:

The 2004 show had several 69's, the bottom car of these two pics was from the 2004 show, the first pic was the only 69.
