Are 68 & 69 Charger grille interchangeable with either year cars?

I've been wondering this for some time, can you put a 68 grille on a 69 charger car or a 69 grille on a 68 year car?  If this is possible, what changes are needed if any besides locating the grille you want to use and all it's correct trim?

Seen it done a few times, don't know why you would want to though. To each their own I guess.

I wasn't sure if they would easily be interchanged or not.  Any idea on how difficult it would be to put a 69 grill in a 68 car?  Would the sub-grill frame supports work for both or will they need to be heavily modified?

You should be good to make the swap with no issues....but why? Each had a great looking front end grille so I'd leave it correct with the car. If you make a swap you will encourage lots of questions (side markers, tail lights not matching) plus your risk the scorn of mopar purists.

I believe the grille frame is the same between the 2 is it not ?

Yes, they will interchange. Your biggest hangup is the different location of the hood latch and striker.

Thanks guys for the feedback.  I was just wondering if the grille would be interchangeable with the grille support bracing and with the hood and fenders if all will fit correctly.  From what I understand, I'll just need a center I setup and the driverside headlight door (as it had different screw points for the emblems) to make the 68 grille swap to a 69 grille. 

Has anyone converted their head light doors to electronic instead of the traditional vacuum set up?  If so, what conversion kit have you used and how user friendly has it been to install?
