Trouble with Holley fuel fittings

Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone runs into this problem, and I'm also curious if anyone else has run into this. I'm having Greg at Fabulous Fabrications build me a 5/16" carb fuel line setup and he told me I need to buy two 5/16" fittings from Summit to replace the 3/8" fittings that came with my Street Avenger. So I ordered two and when I got them I tried to fit one of them in the carb it wouldn't go. I thought at first it was hitting the carb housing (because the overall diameter on the 5/16" is bigger for some reason). I called Summit and was about to send them back but decided to try the second fitting for giggles. It fit fine in both holes, so evidently the first fitting was defective. Called Summit back and they're sending me another one.
