My furnace started making noise last night. At first I thought it was my air compressor but I went to garage and it was off so I went to furnace/laundry room and furnace is making noise. It sounds like air compressor running.
What might be the problem?

No, it wasn't coming from my couch. I did change filter and it seems like it fixed the issue.

Hi your noise coming from the fan ? Can you turn off the ac and turn on your fan , see if the noise is still there, if so you may have a belt on the way out or bearing. If there is no belt its a direct drive blower, check to see if ther is somthing in the blower wheel setting it off balance, while your in ther are the blower fan blades clear or clogged with dirt.

Filter was extremely dirty and I've replaced it. I turned on A/C and noise doesn't seem to be present anymore.

Need to change filters here in Florida every month. If the filter is plugged up it will suck the crap by the sides of the filter and in time will load the blades with crap and throw it off balance. All the way around it just costs you more not to keep clean filters in place...
