To buy or to build...?

Guys,
I bought a '67 440 w heads, crank, pistons, rods, (all apart) etc a few months back. It will need a full re-build. I found a guy locally selling a 440 that he says was professionally built with a '69 steel crank, balanced, .030 over, 10:1 compression, block was cleaned, magged, decked, etc. It is complete with 516 closed chamber heads that were given a valve job and has a 750 demon double pumper, Holley street dominator intake. He is asking $3000 for the engine. I would have to definitely have all of the machine work on my block and heads, as well as new pistons, carb, and intake. My crank is good to go. I'm wondering if I'd save quite a bit of money in the long-run if I was able to buy his engine and just sell mine separately. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks guys,
Terry

well typically a rebuilt engine needs to be torn down & checked over , it may cost you extra to complete it as there is often something wrong

Labor on my machine work was 2400 I think and that was with me just buying new heads.
