Hello guys. The new site looks nice. Anyways, I have decided to buy a 68 or 69 Charger and I'm ready to buy. Got the cash ready. I just can't find any Chargers. Ive checked craigslist but with no luck. Help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

The best place? The classifieds right here, of course! :icon_smile_big:

BTW, there's tons of pics, so beware!

Oh & welcome to the site.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

BigBadCharger

I already checked them man. No luck. Nothing close to California also.

You might want to check Trader Online. That's where I found mine! Car Shows are excellent sources to locate cars for sale. DealsonWheels.com and Themopardude.com are another two sites. Welcome aboard! and when you do buy one, show us your toy. Take many pic's. Good Luck!

The absolute best way to find a car is to put the word out!

Every person you talk to after reading this post, mention that you are looking for an "old car to fix up".  Yes, the others are correct by mentioning ads and such but you would be surprised at how many cars are for sale that are not advertised.

Mention it to every person you know and don't know.  Someone will know of someone who knows of where a car may be.  Hell, when you stop at 7-11 for a slurpee, tell the person behind the counter you are searching for an old car, her husband may know of a guy that has some stashed in the yard.

You'd be surprised at what you will find.

I started looking all around the Southern United States and found some but I began to tell people around here, including my Father-In-Law and he called me an hour later and found three within 1-2 hrs of my place.  I bought one a few weeks later!

Be patient!

Or, here are some Chargers for sale:

Worn out advice, but, with all that cash on hand, don't get all impatient and buy the first car you see either (unless it really is the one you want and priced fair, blah blah blah).

I usually search Ebay, Collector Car Trader Online, Deals On Wheels, as well as some various sites I can't remember off the top of my head. Also, a word of warning. Stay as far away as possible from HLPAG, they sell nothing but lemons! I have heard many horror stories about people who have bought a Charger from them. Good luck to you, I hope you find what you're looking for  !

Do you speak other languages??? You better if you mention it in 7-11! :icon_smile_big:

It's simple.

Spend all your money on something else and suddenly dozens of people will drive them to your door wanting you to buy them! :-\

Seriously, get the word out. I guy I knew at work (who knew I was a mopar nut), told me about a friends 'Charger' he was trying to sell. I figured he didn't know was he was talking about, you know how people get car types confused.   But there it was just as he said! :icon_smile_big: 200 bucks later it was mine!

That is how I got mine. They weren't technically for sale, but a few phone calls and emails later they were mine. I know it gets frustrating sometimes, but just keep looking.

I suggest traveling down side streets and backwoods areas as I have found quite a few cars that ways.  Of course, you have to live in an area that would allow older cars to sit around though........

if you live in california, then go to the nearest convenience store thursday mornings, and get Classic, Antique and Custom Trader! this weeks edition has several nice looking chargers, including two 69s for under 20k. they also have a web site, www.collectorcartraderonline.com but i dont know how up-to-date it is.    :icon_smile_cool:

ps: the web site is not up to date. i suspect the best cars are sold long before they get to the web site.

Actually... the web site is updated faster than the print version (daily - every night starting at midnight). The problem is that it costs more money to get an ad listed online *and* in the printed magazine so a lot of people don't choose to list the ad online. The magazines come out either Thursday or Friday morning and many times the really great deals are gone by lunch time. Sometimes the seller forgets to remove the ad so you might see cars listed for a long time that are already gone.

yah I find hemmings way to expensive for my liking as well.  But sometimes in their magazine you do find some sweet deals in the black and white pages in the back.

The best luck I had finding my car was through local connections. After farting around with cars 2000 miles away on Ebay and such I called every Mopar buff I knew at the time in my area and asked them if anyone knew of any '68 Chargers for sale. Once I did that I immediately found four Chargers (two '68s and two '69s) in my area. Also, I knew a guy at work who was always driving around looking for classic cars that were tucked away and neglected. He told me about four '68s within five miles of my workplace and two more '68s that were within an hour's drive. I looked at all but one of the cars I was told about. Of the ten I found within an hour of my house, five were for sale and I got the one that was least expensive and most rare and complete.

If I were you I'd talk to every local club, restoration shop, parts vendor, Mopar buddy, co-worker, relative, etc. and exhaust every single local venue you can think of. Because shipping a car will probably add $1k to your cost.

Definitely put a Charger wanted add on as many web sites as you can with your criteria. You may get that guy that is thinking about selling but hasn't put it up yet contact you. Then you at least may get a few days to deal on it before someone else gets it first. I have bought 2 of my Chargers that way!

Rayzor dude man, I wouldnt mind having that engine if it looks anything like the one you have pictured in your auction, your description is too funny.  I really like the car though.   Is that car drivable? Buddy from toronto should just buy it now and drive it back if it is drivable, I would.
