Any tricks, or best recommended glue, if the top of the buttons on the seats of a 69 Charger pop off?   Two cars, mine and a friend's, both newly upholstered.

It's common with all of them isn't it?

The only scourge of Legendary I'm aware of. Me too.....I just haven't gotten around to hammering them for some spares. I'm going to try a dollop of epoxy next time.  :Twocents:

Mine look to be OEM and they are popping off too.  I think I salvaged most of them.  I recall someone else saying the used a dab of silicon (or other type of) caulk in the metal cup and then pushed them back on.  I haven't tried it yet.

I tried a dab of clear sillycone..........fail. If I can hammer Legendary enough to send me some spares, epoxy I will try Luke.

Shoo-Goo may be a better option to clear silicone although I believe it is a similar sort of product. It's used for shoe repair and sporting equipment repair so it's fairly tough stuff, much stronger than basic clear silicone.

It would be nice if someone would just mold solid buttons around the metal/string internals.

nother fix  windshield glue / sikaflex/pu sealer  , comes in black  ,  well messy to use it for buttons , but if your carefull  do it correctly & ware gloves  , they will never come off again !!  :Twocents:

got legendary seat covers !!   buttons are still on mine !! perhaps they are made different now ???
:shruggy:

i noticed when i fitten my covers , the botton was attached thin strip of aluminum ,  like a big cotter / split pin  & was opened up on the inside !! :scratchchin:
i just bent them back more  , not sure if  that did anything different  to why my buttons are still on , but i rarely fit something with out fiddling  with it & try to improve things  , most of the time it makes no difference  though  , but i'm nutts like that :slap: :yesnod:
