I have a magnetic antenna RJ.
I havent fitted the CB in a long time, since barely anyone uses 27mhz here anymore anyway.
In fact, I sold the Cobra a couple years back and have a Pearce Simpson rig that I can use if I need to.
I should just get a UHF to put in there permanently as thats what most people are using today.

Ahh, I thought you had the old Teardrop style that clamps on. I'm assuming that's the one you sold in favor of the magnetic one. I have a magnetic one (has blue bands around it) and am looking at replacing it.

No, but it is a Radio Shack antenna that was close to what was used so it sufficed.

There was a few times my antenna hit the roof.  After that I just got used to opening the trunk lid slow.

My buddy used to bend my 9' whip antenna across the sidewalk and stick it in the bushes on weekends so that the drunk kids would crash into it stumbling home... You always knew when someone ran into it cause you'd hear it "spring"........... Usually followed by a profanity
