My dad is in Michigan and came across this '73.  All parts look to be original but I'm not really sure.  Floor and trunk pans are solid as well as the frame.  Can you guys give me a ball park of what a fair deal would be?  It's got the original 2bbl 400 with a standard duty TF tranny.  A/C and all electrical work.  Claimed 70k original miles.  Some divorced chick is selling it so she might be pissed enough to lower the price.  He thinks he can get it for much less.  She's asking 8,500 obo.  Thanks for any input.

I disagree, it's a great looking car and the color reflects a car of it's era. Power windows, and looks to be in amazing condition. I say, go for it!

That's what he was thinking.  He might go there with 4-5000$ and see if she'll bite.

$5,000-$6,500 is fair, power windows is a plus too. it's wheels and tires away from being a better looking ride. my 73 is lime light with same color interior less the p/w.

Like it.

Make an offer, see what happens...

A/C works? How when there's no compressor according to the underhood shot.

Yeah, what the... I never even noticed that.  I guess that's what you get when you just talk to the owner instead of drive it yourself.  I'll ask him when he gets back.

back then the green chargers had a secret compressor for the A/C. Its a rare option, but hardly anyone picked it becuase we liked to see the compressor under the hood  ::)

At least she came down in the price to your dad...

Geez, that seat material brings back memories of hanging out in my best friend's family Dart back in the '70's..

I wouldn't be worried about the ghastly color inside and out, that can be easily remedied with a trip to the body shop and an afternoon in the shade with a Summit Racing catalog.  The idea is to have a mechanically and structurally sound car, which this car appears to be.  I thought anything "Charger" related from back in the day goes for at least $50K?  I'd say $8500 is a fair price on that note...
