my car has been spitting and sputtering at takeoff.  frankly it kills my burnout experience. :icon_smile_big:  seems the valves are tinging a small amout at cruising speed but not bad.  what should i check first for my launch.  carb adjustment, timing? currently have 69 440 hp, with 750 edelbrock carb, no major mods.

Probably a lean stumble. Edlebrock carbs are good for that. Always best to double check your initial and total timing, then go from there but my money is on the carb. I have never been a fan of those

Also if you still have a points ignition check that when you check timing.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....
