i found a 69 thats all originial numbers matching gcode 383, ac,console auto.still has factory hub caps
car need complete resto , needs new interior, needs  lower quarters, trunk pan, drivers  floor pan .has hole by back glass on sail pannel, hole in tail pannel.
car does not run .he is wanting 13k for it and i was wondering what is a fair price?
i was thinking up to 10k since it doesn't run.
thanks

myk

With all of the rust on that car as you describe I'd expect to pay less.  In this case, the car not running is the least of its problems, IMO.  Post pictures if you can...

Is it the blue one on Craigslist? He was asking 14 at one time and I thought that anything over 9-10 would be a little much.

Yes, I know I have too many cars. My wife reminds me daily.

That's abit steep for a full resto, even if it is a matching numbers car.  Frankly I don't think matching numbers brings all that much more unless it's an r/t and it helps that it has rare options.

Without looking at it I have to agree with the others and be in the $8K-$10K range.

Be aware that you'll never get your money back if you restore it so if you ever want to sell it you may want to skip this one.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

nothing wrong bro to post what you paid for it has nothing to do with 'man you overpaid or underpaid' etc....I was curious if your gonna do all the sheetmetal work yourself since that can run 5k plus for all what you quoted thats all. A good deal is a good deal period and thats what you got  :2thumbs:

Never did understand why people get embarrased for what the things they paid for in life. I personally dont give 2 rats arse what people think what I paid for in life as long as Iam happy their happines on what I paid for does not matter to me.

$10k sounds high, based upon your description.

Scaregrabber

$5k max. It doesn't sound like it has anything special to warrant a higher price.

Patronus

seems high to me too. I paid $8K for a running/driving fully complete '69. (she needed quarters tho)

15 years ago, that would have been a $500.00 parts car. My, how times have changed!   :eek2:

Nah, 15 years ago was only 1997.  I remember complete 2nd-gens were already up to at least a few thousand by then.

You'd have to go back 25 years to find complete running 2nd-gens advertised for a few hundred bucks.  And in those days a few hundred bucks was quite a bit more money than it is now.

darkside

i'll let ya'll know if i get the car.

:iagree:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I think its kinda high also. Last year I bought my 69 Charger off craigslist  for $12,000. It was only about 50 miles from my house. Its a 383 4speed and it runs and  drives. It had an amateur restore job done on it, I would consider it a nice daily driver.  I think its kinda hard to find a 69 Charger for under $15,000 that is drivable. Most I have seen are either fully restored and cost a lot, or they need full restoration. I think if you are willing to wait you might find a better deal. But if you really want it  and don't feel like waiting then go for it! :) Its your money. I got lucky, I have been searching craigslist ever since I bought mine and I have not seen another one in that good of shape for the money I paid.
